Is that bocote handle? Looks great, love the figure. If that's your first, you've got a bright future ahead of you

this is my first playing cue from scratch (scratch=from squares to finished cue), ive done quite a few conversions and breakcues and i have alot of other cues in the works but for right now this is the best ive done i have some pointed forearms ive made some with venners and some without.

theres more to come in the near future ill buy a good camera and keep you posted.

The pictures really don't do it justice. I was the one who took the pictures on my 5 megapixel Android cellphone. It's georgous. Trent, if this performs as well as your purple heart j/b, I'm stealing both of them. Go Marley Cues!

Nice looking cue Trent. I have to ask...it seems it wasn't too very long ago that you bought your lathe. Since this was your first from scratch...how long did it take you to go from square wood to this finished cue?

ive been buying wood for a while (2 yrs) and i had a wood lathe before i got the hightower so i was slowy turning my wood down to size a while ago this cue here was asembled the first week i got my hightower and every 4 weeks since ive taken a small pass, it was already close to size due to turning on the wood lathe.

before i got my hightower lathe i was already setting out wood that i wanted to make cues with i have about 25 cues, in the works all the wood has been picked out for each cue since i got it some like this cue was picked out over a yr ago its all named and organized, i figured this would be the best way to start my river of wood.

i know what you were thinking tho Kevin he just got a lathe 6 months ago and he built a cue its going to look like a bannana in a week lol

im just posting pics, i may not sell this cue, it was meant to be my new playing cue.

but if it hits good and i get a good offer ill probably sell it. for now i just wanted to share some build pics.

Congratulations on your first cue man. That has to be a super feeling to have one done yourself from blocks of wood to here. I would love to get a lathe one day and try myself, seems like it would be very relaxing. Thanks for sharing the photos.

ya im hooked i cant wait to get some more done its a ton of fun, but its alot of work and it going to be hard to let some of my cues go i feel like i have a attachment to them lol

I played last night at Tommy T's and we played the finals at 5:30 am. They usually cut the field off at 32 but didn't last night. 54 players total. Anyway, I didn't have the energy to make it to Atl this morning. I got home at 7:00 am, Tommys is over an hour drive from my house. Are you playing in Atl? If so, good luck and let me know how you do, Trav.
