How many people think that "Baltimore" Buddy Dennis should be nominated for the One Pocket Hall of Fame? I know that he is up on someone already in the One Pocket Hall of Fame.

are the pickins getting thin already?

there should be a form all the old school guys can fill out to inform us younguns on who should really be in the hall.

Seems like the first few years of inducties were spot on, but I have nevr heard of "Baltimore Buddy"? I would induct Keith McCready if I had a vote...

One Pocket HOF

Buddy played well but heres a list of people off the top of my head who get there first, Buddy Hall, Cliff Joyner, Scott Frost Alex Pagulayan Shannon Daulton, John Schmidt, Jeremy Jones, Gabe Owen.

I've known Buddy for nearly 40 years. A good player and a better hustler. I'm not sure he's a candidate for the One Pocket HOF though.

Is that the right Vanover for the HOF though?

jay who played better 9 ball buddy dennis or cigar tom vanover i respect your opinion

Pretty close call in their prime. I might take Cigar Tom if they play in Baltimore and Buddy anywhere else. I definitely like Buddy's One Pocket game though. Buddy was a lifetime road man and that counts for something in my book. He found a way to make a living playing pool his entire life (plus have a family) and that ain't easy.

Here is the URL for the 1P and Banks HOF. There is a listing of all the inductees. Each Fall a candidates list is compiled by vote. Then the final inductees are selected by another vote. The criteria are explained on the site. ~Doc

Guys, Jay is right on when he says a better hustler and his life devoted to pool and the games puts him in. I know you guys haven't seen him play in a while, but I will guarantee that he can play right now at 66 yrs old with all the guys mentioned for one pocket. He don't show his speed because that's how he makes a living, but when it comes to Baltimore Buddy, he is 100% a top nominee. My words mean nothing, but I ask anyone to come to columbia, sc and watch him play one pocket. Ask Grady who has the upper hand? We see it all the time and he is and will be a legend for the game of Pool. I think Keith will vouch for Buddy on this as well...

Thanks

I played Buddy at Tucker's Billiard Academy in North Charleston, SC ~37 years ago. See if he has any recollection of a crazy sailor named Rich from those days. :)

He must have liked that part of the country.

all due respect never heard him mentioned in all the "stories" ive read in the books and at 1p.org

hof

Some of the guys mentioned in this thread are to young for the HOF IMO.Afterall when making a game the HOF is worth what 1.5 balls a game?On the other hand some guys will try to use age to negotiate so it may even out.

The Quiet Man

I know Buddy at least 40 years. Good player, good hustler. He was just so quiet and unobtrusive that he usually went unnoticed. He certainly wasnt loud, (like me) but he was a force to be reckoned with.

Beard

He did attend Johnston City
