Open Offer to Danny Harriman and John Schmidt from TAR

This is all too twisted. A "pool player" actually has said "boo hoo, woes me, I actually have to go out and hit some balls for some free money."

Danny... just stop reading the posts, call Justin and tell him you will play. Pool is what you do best, so do it.

Thanks John. I'll be contacting you about some other things in the future. We are serious about making matches people want to see and putting money in players pockets. No one will get rich but we will do our best to make things happen.

I called Corey with a similar offer for a match about three weeks ago. He said he had to talk some people and get back with me. Still waiting.

Can you believe we are trying to give $5-$6K away and players dont seem to be interested?

My offer is now officially off the table. Danny seems to think I insulted or slighted him in some way and frankly I dont have the patience to deal with ego's and hand hold people in a simple business deal. I did my best to create an opportunity for the players to make money and a chance for TAR to make money. Evidently in this case that isnt enough.

Gary I hope Danny does get a backer and come take your offer as you went to his backers place and it would be fair for his side to reciprocate. I doubt you have to worry about sweating that anytime soon though.

It is a more than fair offer you give up...No doubt...It sometimes takes years to make a boxing match happen i wouldnt call it off in a couple of days..Talking with danny earlier he does need a month to prepare he wants to give it his all..He has to travel great distances to play on equal equipment so i offered him a place and equal playing conditions for preperation...Please give it some time to work out

Not like he's flying 14 or 15 hours to PI to play. What's his flight time, 4 hours??
 
As far as I'm concerned Danny screwed this one up good. His only marketability as a pool player is playing John, and he's acting like this?

Justin, thanks for trying to put this together, and thanks to JS for stepping up with no BS or woofing and saying "let's do it." Count me in for any future TAR PPV's involving John, particularly if it is in straight pool against one of the European 14.1 heavyweights.

I honestly have a lot of hesitation after his response and here is why.

Danny has no skin in the game. If he changes his mind and accepts and we promote this I have no guarantee that the day before the match he wont feel like I or someone else insulted him and decide his pride has been hurt so to show us how we disrespected him he decides not to get on the airplane.

It's evident Danny already feels that I did something to him. I think it would be foolish at this point to gamble a lot of time, money and effort hoping I don't cross some invisible unknowable line of conduct with Danny. He brought up some post from two years ago saying that post meant he was charging more to play. I have no clue at all what hes talking about and will not spend my days worrying about if he's going to decide I disrespected him again somehow and deciding to teach me a lesson by no showing at the last minute.

If anyone doesnt see this as an actual contingency please convince me I am wrong.

as far as skins in the game there will be additional 10-20k in entry fees posted if it comes to terms...i understand your point as well....If diamond would hurry up with them 10ft tables got some other offers for a tar event...

thats a good observation u have made about danny, he could find some tiny thing to blame on u and no show. i say each player post say 2000 and u get that back at end of match win or lose,if u no show for any reason u forfeit the 2000. im willing to do that so u r protected.
 
another idea for a John Schmidt TAR match...

If Corey doesn't work out, how about giving Mika or Toasty a call? Hohmann is a 2-time 14.1 champ & Mika is a 2-time runner up, & both are pretty sporty at 1-hole.

I mentioned this a while back...you need no-show/no-finish money posted
for every match, regardless of the deal you make with players.
Someone not showing or walking out before the match finishes would
be devastating.
Hope something works...our pool hall is a satisfied customer.

I like both those suggestions. The issue is will they sell what Danny/John would. The numbers here were based on the fact we had a legit shot at out outrunning the nut.

I honestly dont know if another all around would or could do similar numbers. We can certainly think about it and make an offer though and see what the guys say.
