opinions Brown-Black-Cork?????

Heres another one thats all but completed just cant seem to decide on the wrap.The cue is Bolivian rosewood with 4 tiger maple points. I do like the brown(chocolate)leather but I think the cork and black leather would tie in with the collars? I can't decide what do you guys think?....Thanks for any help Dave

Whatever would match the collars and buttcap... I think the black would look best, but that's just my opinion...

Can someone explain about cleaning cork as it ages? Will the lighter cork change color as it gets dirty from hand oils and or chalk residue? One other question is there a sealer for it??

I would call Quality Industrial Products in Phoenix (602)861-2930, and ask them if they have any cork/nitrile or cork/neoprene blend in stock that has a darker binder (the rubber part). They make cork blend with all kinds of binders ranging from brick red to green, with black being one of the most popular. Cork is fairly easy to tear by itself, so that's why the binder. I've seen some that is very dark.

As for the sealer, cork blend shouldn't require one. Cork is very good with moisture (fishing pole handles, flotation devices, wine bottles, gasketing, etc.). It is just slightly hygroscopic, so it will take on a minute amount of moisture and can darken slightly with use. It's easy to clean, though, and with the rubber binder, it should last you for years. It FEELS great, too...

I really like that cork wrap. Never been to partial to leather. My hands sweat a lot when I play.

I think the brown leather looks great and is also nice to shoot with. But then again, cork is just awesome. I would definitely research that link from the previous poster and find out if you can match the color of the cork to the cue. That would be the best of both worlds.
