What an extraordinary young man he is - from going to school, working with his father, and attaining the #1 ranking in the US. I swear he is working with more hours in the day than the rest of us. He brings a lot of honor to his family and country - I wish him the best at the Mosconi Cup. Go get em Oscar!

No doubt, balancing school and work keeps me busy enough. He is ruining my excuse for sucking at pool:wink: Congrats Oscar!

You know who is Oscar's biggest fan? It's his dad. He is so proud of Oscar. Ernesto told me last year that Oscar would be a top player soon. Oscar is still getting better and gaining experience. His game has grown by leaps and bounds and will continue to do so.

I know that Oscar sets his goals really high - not just in pool but in life. He has the intellect to be a scientist, a doctor, or whatever he chooses. I'm confident that pool will be balanced with that and might prove to be his stepping stone to even greater personal achievement.

I'm a little past due in catching this thread, but........

I don't think I've known anyone that is more genuinely an all around nice guy that has his head on right.
The fact that he has a mean pool game is an added benefit and a great tribute to his dad, and as far as excelling in all those other areas... I hope my kids turn out half as well.
I was sitting with Ernesto watching Oscar play in Galveston and I think I finally figured out how Oscar plays so well.... his dad is so focused on every aspect of the game that he just thinks the balls in and it just looks like Oscar is shooting! lol:wink:
I've known alot of people around the country over the years, but I don't believe I have ever met two so devoted to each other and competing with each other at the same time. Definitely a great thing to see in a family, and as inspiring to see as it is to watch them both play, and you can see the well deserved pride every step of the way.

Yeah, I can say that "I knew him back when he was knee high to a grasshopper". LOL! Not as long as Corey though because, you know, Corey has gray hair 'n stuff. :)

Oscar is cut from the same mold as his dad, And Ernesto is one first class guy! Oscar has matured as a player and a man in the last two years. He will only get better imo. How good remains to be seen. There is no limit to his upside.

It is refreshing for sure to see a top young pool player that works a job and goes to college all at the same time. Good luck at Turning Stone and the Mosconi Cup Oscar. Johnnyt
