Oscar/Justin Updates Day 2

surprised Oscar quit though, i mean ho wmuch longer would one set be and least he comes away with something afterall he did travel from LA
I think he didnt like getting into any other game thaan 10 ball since justin break is weaakest part of game

He's trying to make a living playing pool and uses his own money, so the 9 ball game was probably close enough to really call it "gambling". Oscar is very smart. If he didn't play 9 ball it was because he didn't think he'd have an edge. For various reasons, there are a number of players he will take on in 10 ball that he wouldn't in 9 ball.

well he had a backer with him

i agree with you oscar didnt like any game other than ten ball so quit even
justin was prob like 10 games winner over the course of the sets so he knew he didnt like it

I'd like too see them do a all around like 10B 8B and one hole or 9 or even banks

Oscar won't gamble playing one pocket or banks, he doesn't really play either game. Playing 9 ball among pros is a joke.

the eightball sets only???

You're not talking about ALL sets are you?

They were about even on games in all sets.

First set 21-13, oscar by 8 games.

Second set 13-7, Justin by 6 games.

Third set 21-18, Oscar by 3 games.

Fourth set 13-9, Justin by 4 games...

So actually oscar was ahead by 11 games to 10. If you count them as a percentage of each set, then it was about even.

First set Justin won 38% of games.

Second set Oscar won 35% of games.

Third set Justin won 46% of games.

Fourth set Oscar won 40% of games.

So overall number of games, Oscar had edge. percentage of games per set, Justin had slight edge.

Total games played over all sets - 115

58 games won by oscar - 50.5%

57 games won by Justin - 49.5%

I had bad info on the 2nd day scores then thanks for the clarification

now im even more confused Oscar didnt want to play a tie breaker
seems to me as you came from LA for action and your slightly up in games won you wouldnt swing a tie breaker

protect your backer if its that close???

certainly want better odds then the below "0.5% edge?"

58 games won by oscar - 50.5%

57 games won by Justin - 49.5%

just speculating here!

Makes sense. Also, it's not like Oscar came out to the Midwest and broke even. He won the Fight Night 10 ball match last week. So if it's tight with Bergman and you have stuff to do back home what's the opportunity cost of playing another set? Possibly pretty big.

Oscar snapped off the one pocket at the Chuck Markulis Memorial Tournament this year, so I'd say he plays the game pretty good.

Oscar already got the cheese against Chris, and didn't want to grind it out anymore. I think he played admirably against Justin.

Probably more because Justin wanted to play 9 ball. Oscar prefers 10 ball (especially on a tight table) because it's brings more of his superior safety game into the picture and makes for fewer rolls. Although he's not Shane, he also breaks and runs pretty strong in 10 ball. Also, 20K is a lot to jack up when you've been playing 3K sets.

He does play some great safe shots I injoyed those a lot got him back in the game few times

You can sponsor him in New Orleans. :D

The Added is now $3,000 and all the Pro players get their rooms covered.

Oscar doesn't live vampire pool player hours in his life. He is up by 10am or 11am minimum each day, if not earlier. So after playing pool for 10 plus hours and being awake for 20 hours, he decided to leave.

Busboy - you didn't come introduce yourself.
