COR is Good
I received a medium COR tip from Outsville and had it installed. (BTW, "COR" or a derivative thereof is my entry for the naming contest.)
Installation was fine.
I've played with this tip about two weeks now, so I think it's a little premature to talk about how well it is going to hold its dome's shape, but no mushrooming so far.
A note about hardness. Triangles are rated as medium-hard by Tweeten and the medium COR sent to me by Outsville is harder than that. It is also harder than the "Dawg Duds" from pooldawg8 that I like so much. So this Outsville medium tip is really a hard tip from my point of reference.
For a hard tip it grips well. I'll miscue sometimes if I try to do too much or get lazy about chalking, so usually when I miscue I can attribute it to a specific cause that's usually my own fault and I won't blame the tip. Since installing this tip, I have only miscued twice where I would have blamed the tip. I think that's very good considering it is that much harder than what I am used to. In other words this tips give good grip and friction, especially considering how hard it is.
Holds chalk well.
No other issues.
This is only intended as an initial impression review, but overall I'd give this tip positive marks.
I really want to try a soft now to be able to get a good idea of how well it will hold its dome shape over a longer period. Chris says he's sending me one. In the mail yet Chris?
