No shows are probably guys who couldn't get a backer to put up their entry fee. I'm guessing it was $100-$200 here (5700P to 11,400P). The equivalent here would be a $500-$1,000 entry fee.
I think there is some inherent unfairness in some people getting to lose twice before being out of the tournament while others are ousted from the event on their first loss (wherever that cutoff point happens), so there is some tradeoff. I don't think anyone really disagrees that that is technically the case either (?), some just see it as a super tiny thing and others are slightly more bothered. If we see a double elimination to single elimination event as being a "fair" two stage event...
apparently a 40+ year old pool room owner, hardly a pro player. not finding any history that he has been, either. he wore a world pool masters shirt though
Saw him play China Open the year before last. Nearly burst my ear drums on the table next to me. Lovely bloke with a heavy break.A player I'm keeping an eye on is Michael Baoanan, who showed plenty of form at the US Open 9ball, coming within a single rack of the semifinals. Definitely one to watch.
Heard the same thing. Some people saying he was a pool room owner, who likes to play for big money. A person at my local hall claims to have played him before. Reckons if he had a FR he'd be pushing 800. Could be bollocks, but the guy has no reason to make it up.apparently a 40+ year old pool room owner, hardly a pro player. not finding any history that he has been, either. he wore a world pool masters shirt though
I think that 10-ball event, in which both Biado and Van Boening were penalized for not calling an obvious 10-ball, was in General Santos City, whereas the current 9-Ball event is in Quezon City. So, different malls.Does anyone know if this is the same mall where Efren won the Manny Pacquiao 10 ball event about 15 yeas ago? The one where all the refs called a foul if a player did not call a hanging 10 ball.
Not sure how good he is yet, but Fedor had to throw the kitchen sink at him to keep him out of the US Open 9ball semis.Saw him play China Open the year before last. Nearly burst my ear drums on the table next to me. Lovely bloke with a heavy break.
For USA viewers, It will get you table 2 and 3 which are not full production, and usually don't have commentary. Table 1 with the full production is on wnttv.com only. Also, once the tournament goes down to only one table, the youtube stream will be gone completely. If I subscribe to the Matchroom feed on YouTube, will that get me all the streamed matches?
No, table 4 only, but they have good matches on it. Denis Grabe up in 1 hour.If I subscribe to the Matchroom feed on YouTube, will that get me all the streamed matches?

It is.Maybe it's just that someone forgot to update the WNT calendar, but the International is not listed as a ranking event.
Thanks! I assume that is the case even with the paid subscription? For USA viewers, It will get you table 2 and 3 which are not full production, and usually don't have commentary. Thanks. Maybe I was looking at a different page.... now I see. I was looking at "Upcoming Events" on the scoring site.
That's over 28,500P! Out of the reach for many young hopefuls, with no backer. They are more used to playing races for 10,000-20,000P. Notice the ones who are getting in are showing their strength. Roberto Gomez, Hoang and Billy Thorpe out and Moritz had a scare himself. More shocks to come!Jay the entry fee is $500, a bit stiff for most the unknown locals.
