Pictures of hackwork section!

Josh, I do agree about the build of the madison table. I see you had a 7 foot unframed slate witch called for those pocket attach blocks.. witch the 8'foot had framed slate and no attachment blocks, brunswick called that model of madison "CY"..
I like to call it the"see why" lol' I'm sure you can finish that "see why" sentence...I have no idea what Bwick was thinking on the build of cross and center sill attachments' what a joke...those state screw blocks are down rite "dumb" because the wood splits just as you can see on almost all of em or the wood strips out... The table owner is just lucky that a guy like your self set it up to get the table to play well enough that its not gonna be a total loss and a pile of junk...

This actually was an 8 footer. It just seems to me to be a major design flaw to have an unbacked slate table with leather drop pockets. God forbid you might have to beef up your slate screw blocks and add a little length to your screws, and put a backing on your slate, but at least the table wouldn't look like every piece on it was an after-thought.

I used to install a lot of Brunswick tables for a local dealer, and have never run across a madison with those blocks.I know that on some tables dealers could order 3/4" inch or 1" slate but never knew a madison could come with unbacked slate.Looks like you had a lot of fun with that one.

Does anyone else find this funny?

Reverse tiger stripe classy but not perfect. Good catch.

Oh no. I wish it was that simple. That was a brand new table with three different pieces of slate. At least they marked the arc though so you could match up the mismatched slate. ;)

Check this one out that we moved today. I'm still amazed at the lack of attention or pride that so many people show. This should have never made it into a customer's house, in my opinion.

You've gotta love the arcs that can't match up. It's bad enough how many tables get mismatched slate brand new, but this is just funny.

Here it is work was done 2 years ago but never had time to play on it until recently
Gc1 mixed rails all k55 superspeed rubber new and pockets were done at the same time. rubber nose height is between 1.250 and 1.375 all to low. no wo pockets were the same size or cut to proper angles consistently. Down degree angle 8-12 degree cut. The top of the rail was taper sanded down about an 1/8", bottom of rail looks untouched so either this table had original monarch rubber on it or was maybe retro fitted for k66 the improper way.

Time to rebuild it right. More photo's to come. Take a guess on who did the work?

I'm gonna take a guess at who did the hacking to those rails...I bet it was Californias finest ducking quacker that won't show is face around here...if he was concerned about his work being done properly you would think he will visit this site and pick up on tips...but he continues to keep doing what he's doing to these rails all over the state of California..maybe someone should approach him and inform him what he is doing is improper and encourage him to change the way he goes about what he is doing to them tables...but' I'm sure he don't want to listen, so.... you and donny can show California's table owners how a real mechanic works on tables and take him off the map...then when he is sitting on the couch all day with no work he will say to him self
"maybe I shoulda..........."

Good to see you are back to working on tables,
Take care.

makes alot of the stuff in this thread look like gold in comparision.

seriously the worst job ever done.
ill try and get pics up tonight

Brunswick school?

ya he said he went to a brunswick school years ago, to learn to be a table mechanic and it cost like 1500 bucks?

Isn't Brunswick the one that if you call them and go tour the factory for an hour they will give you a "diploma" saying you're certified? Or am I confusing them with another manufacturer?

When the time comes and you want it done right, give me a call.
