Placement Pool Challenge (PPC 100)

After more than a few attempts, you eventually memorize most of the early patterns. I have the first 12 memorized and I place the balls very quickly without even thinking. I also think doing the same run-out patterns over and over is educational. I've learned a lot about my game and certain types of shots during the practice.
I totally agree. I'm learning which shots I really need to focus on. It takes me a bit longer to set them up because I am so worried I'll play the sets in the wrong order, shoot a 100, then have a keyboard commando invalidate my run.

I recognize that name. He was the young man I sniped the RDS challenge from a while back.

He appears to be a very straight shooter from the challenge video I watched. He must also really enjoy measuring himself against your challenges.

I thought for sure you would give PPC 100 a try. Should we expect a 100 from you soon?

Well you can't judge by just a prelim rank. I'm an 800 in a prelim's 677 clothing....lol

Might just be way more comfortable in his personal table.
I know preliminary rankings are worthless. You're saying you play 800 speed? Please tell me the "lol" was serious.

Honestly, I don't have the patience for drills. It's the 'correct' ball placement of the the various stages that I really don't enjoy.

RDS had didn't have that element. Rather you just had to rack the appropriate amount of balls, and go.

Oh I am really, realllllly joking about 800 speed....lol <---extremely serious about that 'lol'

We probably all know that prelim's are for the most part worthless. You were kind enough to post his number, so I just meant that we shouldn't assume that's his real speed is all. Drills can be practiced to success. The RDS version has an element of randomness that needs to be played out of. I can't recall Daniel's RDS score, but it was high, so I like to believe it would take a player stronger than a <600 to do so well.

You don't need to enjoy it. Just do it. :geek:

If you print the PPC 100 Ball Layout Diagrams (color or B&W) or pull them up on a tablet at the table, it isn't a big deal. It helps to lay down the diagram on the table oriented with the table.

That is a nice feature of RDS, along with the break shots (for people who like break shots).

That's good info. I'll have to look into RDS.

FYI, all RDS 100 scores to date are in the video description of the RDS 100 Challenge video. Daniel had a 90. You beat him by 1 ball. The top score to date is 93. One of these days, I still want to get a 100, but I suspect it will take me lots of trials.

I remember my 91 run very well... I completely screwed up the 9 ball run out on my first shot, and left 7 points on the table. Unbelievable....

Do it when you can. Any scored (regardless of how low) gets you a free entry into the lottery draw.
Posting a low score will be easy for me. Since I won the drawing in the RDS challenge probably means the odds are against me for that as well.

I actually hope a few people will post some low scores so more people will feel less intimidated (or embarrassed) to enter.

Your odds are just as good as anybody else's odds. Odds don't know about the past. :geek:

I’m going to give it a couple tries this weekend. Have a few honey do’s, then poolin’ time!

I tried some this morning and came tantalizingly close, but no dice. I'll try again tomorrow. I also want to finish the "Smart Runout Pool" PPC YouTube instructional video series. Choices, choices.

I'm going to be sick. I just shot a 99. Missed the last 8 ball... you know, the one that's practically hanging? I was a tiny bit tricky on the key ball, but knew that if I pocketed it I'd move into 2nd place. Once I made it, I relaxed mentally and dogged the hanger. I'll post soon.

Nice (except for the miss). I look forward to seeing the video. That will put you into 2nd for now.
