Player pictures up

The player pics are up on the IPT website, but some are pretty bad. Danny Basavich, Paul Brienza (not too bad but could be better), Bernie, Colin's - they all were not caught at a good moment. I remember we stood in line for a long time, so by the time the cameraman got to us, we were pretty fried. Mine and Mike Zimmerman's are not good either. Maybe it's just us AZBers! Of course, everyone is always critical of their own photos. In fact, I can't say anyone's is very flattering, except a few like Frank Alvarez, Karen Corr, the Buteras and Yannick Beaufils. Even Jackie Broadhurst who is really beautiful, just looks a little sleepy. This is just through the C's.

I haven't gone all the way down the list yet, but some of them are pretty humorous. A couple look like mug shots - Bustamante and Chenman. OK, the D's and E's are all exceptionaly beautiful; must have just been the B's and C's that were not so good. :p Niels Feijen - not fair, he got to use a playing photo. The G's and H's are mostly good. What is up with Thorsten Hohmann's photo? It looks like it was photoshopped onto another head.

I, J, K, L, M are all ok, some were great. I think I have seen better pics of Keith and Grady from JAM. No problem with N-R, although I think Efren's and Rempe's pics could have been better too. Ike Runnels looks sad and one of the best things about him is his fantastic smile. Larry Schwartz makes up for it - this must have been taken right after he found out he would get to play in the KOH tourney! Earl Strickland has the deer in the headlights look and Stan Tournageau must not have been prepped for the shot - he has a wonderful smile too.

Actually, I have gone down the rest of the list and most of them are fantastic. Makes you think you are right there with them and some you just want to give them a hug right now. Maybe the ones I mentioned might have the opportunity to get retakes later.

Some of the pictures are pretty bad, Grady looks like a mental case in his. While we are on the subject of pictures, what is up with your bigoted Avatar's that belittle black people? I can't be the only one who wonders about it.

Haha, bigoted? Coming from another minority? That is crazy. I just see a funny picture and offer it up. Doesn't matter if they are black, white, green or purple. If there were more funny Asians, I would put those up, but I think Straybullet has cornered that market. lol.

Lighten up, I will try to offend everyone with my avatars.

I guess your next post will begin with, "Some of my best friends are" Inappropriate is inappropriate regardless how you try to spin it.

Opinion duly noted. Some of my best friends are...;)

Macguy,
Lighten up a little. I was poking fun at the previous avatar in the "waisted for New Years" thread, but I didn't think anyone would really be offended. I would disagree that the new avatar is inappropriate - hideous maybe - but in no way inappropriate. Pictures are what they are; different viewers interpret them differently. You view them as inappropriate, I view them as an artistic portrayal, evoking the sadness and hopelessness of existence in mid-20th century Appalachia or Dust Bowl Oklahoma. It's pretty dang artistic. Mapplethorpe has pics that are inappropriate, LC's new avatar is just wrong (not inappropriate).

To LC,
Let me help you in your search for a "slightly less hideous" avatar. Google the words Bissett, Crawford, Basinger, Alba. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU COME UP WITH NEXT.

Signed,
Larry, my brother Daryl, and my other brother Daryl

I guess you missed the several very undignified pictures of black people. She got rid of them real quick when I mentioned them and would like to pretend she didn't do it. You must not have seen them or you could not in the least be defending her. They were very bad and bigoted is the only word that can possibility come to mind.

The only bigoted person is MacGuy. He is just picking on an Asian Female. Actually he is just being obnoxious and looking for a fight. In his feeble attempt to put down the IPT.

If your skin is that thin, then maybe you shouldn't be on a message board, website, or even a computer that has the internet. Better yet, throw your tv, radio, newspaper, & magazines out in the trash. Sit at home on your couch with the curtains and blinds pulled closed. That is the world that you're trying to create. Linda is a funny, nice woman who also happens to be a minority. Notice the minority part is just an after thought. MOST people don't give two sh!ts what color or nationality anyone is. There's a very, very small group that believe's everything is racist and they'll make a stink about the most innocent things, like a funny avatar. I guarantee you the color of the person in her pic never crossed her mind. I know it wouldn't mine. I would've found the pic amusing regardless of the color or nationality of the person in it. Now she's got two white men that look like something out of the movie deliverance. Aren't you offended by this new pic? Why isn't her new pic racist? What's the difference? If the last one was racist, why isn't this one racist?

The avatars just looked funny to me.

Just funny to me, but I'm a white guy, oh wait a minute that must mean I'm a bigot, but some of my best friends are......

Cool it with the PC bullsh%t , Geez......

I don't mind if you disagreeing with me I have kind of come to expect it, but you need to at least be honest. I am sorry but I doubt you even believe what you are saying yourself. You are being dishonest, at least I hope you are, let's hope you didn't really think those pictures she used were OK. If you think so just come right out and say it. I don't think they were and I believe most anybody would agree with me if they are honest about it.

I hate to burst your bubble but that is an actor named Espera DeCorti. He was an Italian whose family was from Sicily. They didn't even use a real Indian for the earth day TV spot about pollution. I am sure there are were some real Indian actors back then but one didn't get the job, draw your own conclusions.

And in Bonanza (or whatever western show it was) a white woman played an Asian. OH NO! Drop it already. No one here is racist.

Your not bursting anyones bubble. Obviously you spend a little more time on the internet then I do. Speaking of minorities, upon rereading all the posts in this thread in regards to your narrow minded views, i think that you'll discover that your "in it"

I have to say if those people really believe what they are saying, I feel blessed not to be one of them. Thank you for the complement

I think everyone is familiar with my previous avatar. The next one that I put up is shown below. I think it is a testament to my NOT being racist that I really did not relate the 2 as having black men in them. It was WHAT they were doing and not the color of their skin that prompted me using their pictures. I think if their blackness offends you, then YOU are the one with the racist problem. Humor, music, and art are all international languages to be enjoyed by everyone. I am just sorry, that my humor, MacGuy, is not to your liking. I have TONS of funny pictures and never once thought, "Ooh, I will post 2 black guys in a row!" The only reason he did not last very long was because of your response, otherwise, he would still be there. So then I had to go find some white people for my picture. YOU made me conscious of what their skin color was when I had to go digging and sort through the photos!

I thank you all who are standing behind me. I don't know you except through the forums, but I can assure each and every one of you that I do not care what color your skin, hair, eyes, or clothes are. I will treat each of you with the respect you deserve until proven otherwise, and will seek to share a little of my off-kilter humor with you.
