I have no response other then sadness for you.

Macguy, I would have to agree. Timberly puts a different spin on things simply due to who the person is that is being talked about. One time she thinks something might be evil and hateful and you should mind your own business and the next she thinks it is funny and wants everyone to know.
I have full respect for Macguy for speaking his mind & sticking with it.

I, J, K, L, M are all ok, some were great. I think I have seen better pics of Keith and Grady from JAM...

Actually, Linda, I do like the picture on the IPT website of Keith now. The picture they had on there previously, I didn't care for personally.

On the drive to the KOTH Shootout in Orlando, I found out that Keith did not know how to tie a tie, and unfortunately, neither did I. We were staying at the Marriott in Orlando and were very fortunate to have an accommodating nice young man at the front desk who would kindly assist us with the tying of Keith's tie each morning.

I looked everywhere for clip-on ties, but couldn't find any. However, en route to Orlando, we did stop at an outlet store in North Carolina called J.R.'s, and they had these really cool zip-on ties. Keith said they were very comfortable. We purchased one that is literally the color of money, green and black mosaic of greenbacks of all denominations.

My favorite "find" of the trip was the Italian comfortable dress leather shoes which also provided traction. We got them at an outlet nearby the Marriott. The name of the shoes, MOSCOLONI. I thought that was quite fitting. :p

Timberly put no spin on anything, other than the fact that MacGuy's attack was unwarranted. Are you saying then that I am racist? MG's 'speaking of his mind' started with his facts flawed.

I quote, "I guess you missed the several two very undignified Does everything have to be dignified on here? How dignified are bikini-clad women? pictures of black people. She got rid of them real quick when I mentioned them and would like to pretend she didn't do it. My avatar was up for a week, the 2nd one I have explained would still be up, except I changed it for him. I am not hiding anything like he is trying to make you believe. In fact, I posted it here again for all to see. Someone already uses the photo of a white girl doing the same 'undignified' thing in their avatar, so I used this one. It's the only 2 I have and I didn't want to duplicate. You must not have seen them or you could not in the least be defending her. Well, by now you should have seen them! They were very bad They are SOOOOO bad! and bigoted You are a funny MacGuy. is the only word that can possibility come to mind."

MG, while being new to the forum, I have had one very obvious conclusion to your posts, and that is that you are a very unhappy man, and you are the one that needs the pity. I am very deeply sorry for you.

Wow JAM, Keith looks sharp! I still think you take the best photos! Don't worry, all of Mike's ties were pre-tied with the knot in them, so all he had to do was slide it up, and even then, he enlisted my help getting them done. :p How do zip-on ties work? I have never heard of them.

Sounds like you had fun shopping and it was certainly worth the effort, he looks very debonair. That is funny about the shoes. Can't wait until we can wear our finery once again at the next IPT stop.

And I have full respect for Timberly AND Macguy. I have lost respect over the years for one pro player mentioned in this thread, and I have to hold my fingers back from posting what to some might seem evil and hateful. In an effort to not make AzBilliards a battleground, let me just say that while most will enjoy themselves in Louisville this coming week, we will remain at home for a variety of reasons, and I did relay one of those reasons to Greg Sullivan, the DCC promoter, about it.

Personal beefs sometimes manifest themselves into flame wars. Having gone through the school of hard knocks on Internet posting on another pool-related forum, I now choose to refrain from posting about some topics, at least as they pertain to me and mine. What is an injustice to me may be trivial to others. So why open up a can of worms?!

Just note JAM, you are not alone in your opinion of this person...and it's not just from online postings that I draw this conclusion. When you meet the horse's mouth so to speak, a person can then make their own assessment of a person, I made mine, and it didn't change one bit.

I liked the pics though,

Shorty, I do love my pictures, and I have accumulated quite a menagerie of players over the past several years. :D

Here's a snapshot taken in Orlando at the IPT KOTH Shootout of an old guard player and a young veteran: Howard Vickery and Dee Adkins of Ohio.

Howard, in case some don't know, was one of the "real" pool players who appeared in "The Color of Money." He's always been a gentleman, a quiet unassuming-type personality, but he's a ferocious lion on a field of green AND one of the good guys on the tournament trail.

I am pleased to see Dee Adkins back in the saddle again. Some may not know, but Dee fell off a roof at work several years ago and did MAJOR damage to his arm and shoulder. He suffered horribly during the healing process, but he's definitely okay now, thank goodness. Dee, BTW, is a crackerjack horse handicapper. One evening in Orlando, he got a call from a friend back home who told him about a good pick for an upcoming race that evening. Keith, Danny DiLiberto, John Turturo (sp), Dee, and myself took off for an OTB facility close by. I made my usual dollar-triple-box, 1-6-9, which is my brother's birthday, for 6 bucks and won $106 right off the bat, AND I broke even for the night, which is a miracle in itself. The horse that Dee got a tip on ended up being a 1-to-5 favorite.

The Buckeye State sure does have its share of topnotch players!

I'm lost - did I mention a pro player that got JAM upset? And how could one person ruin DCC? Couldn't they just go and avoid that person? Sorry this all got started, I was just trying to point out some funny pics on the IPT website.

I can see how flame wars start. Without restraint, I might be flaming right now. I have never in my life been called bigoted. In fact, I have been criticized for being too open to diversity. I went to look for an avatar for someone mentioned in one of these posts and couldn't find it, but you ought to look up Mac72. Is he bigoted too?

No, Linda, you didn't upset me one iota. The purpose of my post was to state that I refrain from posting on some topics which may be "personal" in nature to me and mine. :p

It's a small pool world in some respects, and whether it is in person or on an Internet forum, riffs will occur from time to time. Sometimes posters may feel strongly about their opinions, especially if it is personal, but to lay it all out there for public debate when the public does not have all of the facts before them, creates an environment for flames.

Fortunately for us all, there are so MANY opportunities these days available for players of all caliber to compete in, and the player in my camp definitely has his eye on that big old IPT 8-ball! :D

I am just amazed Linda is awake at 3 am LOL

And by the way, just so the thread is politically complete, a gimp has now posted here...ME LOL

I am going to try myself to one big tourney this year and meet Keith and JAM perhaps...I am leaning toward the end of the year Turning Stone JOSS Tour finale I believe it's called.

Not sure yet though...still debating.

Shorty, I was hoping that you would have made it to the KOTH in Orlando since it was closer to your home base. It was pretty doggone cool, I tell you, and seeing all of the great ones under one roof was a real treat for us railbirds. :p

The Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour Season Finale is always a must-go for my camp, ESPECIALLY the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York. The venue is exquisite, and the staff at the Turning Stone are all pool-friendly, many of them coming in and out of the tournament room to check out the matches. AND of course, my counterpart, being a connoisseur of ALL games of stake, had a blast out at the crap tables. I even saw Efren between matches throwing a couple of dice.

There's a Joss tournament at Turning Stone Casino next month, February 16th through 19th, BTW, and in the words of Charlie "Hillbilly" Bryant, if the good Lord's a willing and the creek don't rise, we're going to be there for sure.

How about this snapshot of Francisco Bustamante?! It was the last match of the semi-finals, and he had just lost the set, making him a shoe-in for third place. Man, I think you could have fried an egg on his head at that moment, as he was quenching his thirst and listening to Keith's chatter. Poor fellow had visions of himself being in the finals I'm sure, but $80,000 ain't too shabby. He told me later that evening that this was the BIGGEST win of his pool-playing career. :D

Later that evening, Francisco was Efren Reyes' cornerman in the finals and pulled hard for his comrade and friend. Every now and then, I'd catch a glimpse of him in the finals pit, and he definitely was having a blast, laughing and smiling. It was kind of neat seeing the players actually enjoying themselves, even though they were stuck sitting on the rail. :)

Hey Shorty,

I am still on east coast time. Up now to finish a paper for school and then to work. :( The new year is back in full swing.

Take care,
Linda

I liked the pics for the most part, but some of them could definitely be better, I also noticed some of the players missing photos. Two of my favorites were Tony Cohan and Nick VD Berg who were pretty styling compared to the plain black suits most of the players were dressed up in, I think Tony had a black suit actually but I loved the hat!

I was thinking....hurry up and take the photo:D

Don't know why they made my head bigger than everyone elses. My nice tie, if in shot, could have taken some attention away from my double-chin:mad:

To Linda: On your side here. Macguy's biggest argument is to claim that others are incapable of the 'honesty' that somehow only he can see. People post pics of all kinds of people in stupid, embarressing situations. Coz one is white, another black, another asian or hispanic etc. does not indicate any racist intent. It merely indicates that all types of people can do funny things or look funny.

If he simply condemed silly people pictures in general as derogatory and bigoted then he would have a 'square' foot to stand on.(note: Seems harmless entertainment to me). But to infer racist intent out of such triviality identifies him as absurdly politically correct....a victim of double-speak propaganda.

I want to add that Linda has not only been a breath of fresh and warm-hearted air to these boards of late, but she carries the same air in person. I polite person who had a disagreement with her would raise the issue politely or in private, not malign her so aggressively.

Jam and Linda ...

Now that is a pretty sorry state of affairs when
2 guys that can knock down a 3 rail bank shot
can't even tie their own ties ..... lol

Tell you what ... I will diagram the knot tieing in a WEI table
so they can understand it ... ROFL

Scott --> who can tie ties with 5 different knots.

Thanks Colin for the kind words. You are a man of integrity.

Hope we can get retake pictures for the IPT! lol

Oh, and btw, have you taken pics of your table yet?
