This is a HUGE undertaking, but I like it. I really do like it.

Deno Andrews would be an excellent choice to be on the staff. He's got quite a bit of experience in the pool world, long before the IPT. He's a nice guy, too!

If you feel that you have what it takes to fill any of the posts indicated then submit a written application stating why you should be considered and send to my Private Messages account here.

I would appreciate it if the amateur comedians could find another thread to strut their stuff. Posters with a positive attitude towards the subject matter are welcome.

If anything in the post whets your appetite to get involved then feel free to contribute but stay positive I know what all the negatives are so If you are just an armchair lawyer then pick on some other subject.

The real question is: will the players be seeded? :p

Aside joking, this looks like a great opportunity for the world elite pool players to make a living from their abilities.

I second that about Deno as well.

This is the most professional approach I have seen. I'm in.

I can't fly in airplanes, so I'm not much good to help the organization, but I will donate my services as the official WPPPO proofreader of all press releases. It's hard to take an entity serious if they're spelling words wrong and don't use correct punctuation. It looks tacky.

Of course, I guess I'll have to learn how they spell on the other side of the pond, e.g., organisation/organization, color/colour, et cetera. ;)

Hey, if it looks pretty in print, it may go a long way in spreading the word!

Damn ... and just when I was getting ready to nominate you for card girl.

Pay attention at the back there - no levity:smile:

Doug, if you do get some interest in moving forward with this, definitely get somebody to create a good website. You need somebody experienced with social media to do this. If they can produce a good website as well as being connected to all the other social media sites like Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, et cetera, that's the way to go.

The website is the first thing prospective sponsors see, so it's essential to have it be top of the line, easy to navigate, and, again, SPELL-CHECKED. ;)

Doug, I agree with Jennie - here is the best person to get with -

Just curious JAM but why cant you fly???

Phobia. Did when I was 19 on Braniff Airlines to Love Airport in Fort Worth/Dallas area. My ears hurt for a week. Never again.

Plus, if God wanted us to fly, he'd have given us wings. We're land animals. At least if I'm driving on land, I'm in control of my ship.

I actually think I died in a travel accident in another life. I've had some nightmares about it, and it's just something I won't give in about. Poor Keith had to drive with me to Las Vegas when he was invited to the IPT event in 2006. It was the best road trip of my life. The best part of traveling to these pool tournaments, as far as I'm concerned, is the experiences we encounter getting there. That's where all the fun is! :p

If you have the money for 12 tournaments with expenses paid for the players then there is a slight chance this will work. If the whole idea is based on money to be named later it is just an exercise in creative writing. It sounds good but you might as well be starting an interstellar alliance because both groups have a similar chance of getting off the ground.

There is a great line The Departed when Martin Sheen explains what his police intelligence unit does:

"We deal in deception here. What we do not deal in is self deception.

Im all for ideas and this one has some good and interesting points but to present it like its ready to roll is a bit misleading.

I have had the ear thing from a flight or two but mostly no problem. Anyone with a sinus infection can have a serious problem when flying. Jim Cramer broke an eardrum doing it. It may have been a one time thing for you Jam but i cant guarantee it.

David said I should post this as an idea for you.

I've haad some interessting PMs. But I would like to hear more.

Looks like a great start. I didn't see anything there about codes of conduct, and I hope they have some strict guidelines. I would have some rules in place for those who like to abuse the system. Temper tantrums and quitting matches would not fly. Also, those who show up dressed poorly, still intoxicated from the nite before. I don't have a problem with gambling, but people who dump matches, to make a score really irk me. Real PROFESSIONAL conduct rules need to be in place, and enforced for everyone equally. Late show for a match, you forfeit, end of story. I would also like to see some sort of sportsmanship from the players. If they foul, just admit it, even if the referee didn't see it. Wouldn't that be a real surprise?

This is just a few of my idea's, should I ever hit the lottery. I planned to get assistance from a few of the honest people I know in the pool world, in organizing and running a tour. There are some great people around, with integrity, who could help keep things on track. Might mean banning a couple of the top players to set an example, but worth it in the end.
