polishing compounds

Hut or PPP. Commonly used by wood turners like myself. They have abrasives inside that are akin to sanding/burnishing with 1200+grit and it brings out a slight sheen and accentuates the grain before using whatever finish you choose. I know cues are a different animal in most respects but they are still wood. Hut and PPP are cheap compared to some of the stuff I see on atlas or other billard suply sites. Hope it helps

Hi,

I have used the Wizards and Mohawk 3 step products and was getting a very good polish finish after wet sanding.

I recently bought the 5 step products from Joe at Cue Components and am delighted with his product. The first 3 steps are pastes and the 4th & 5th steps are liquid.

They advertise that it will remove 400 grit swirl marks. I start my wet sanding procedure with 600 and the product completely remove the swirls. I did not have a problem removing swirls before but the deep luster I am getting now is better with this process. I also have Joe's product final step that I was using after step 3 of the other products. Great Stuff.

Remember to polish the cue lengthwise after spin polishing with each grit. After spin wet sanding you must also wet sand lengthwise before going to the next grit. If you don't go lengthwise every step you will alway see some swirls under the polish.

Joe has a sale on this stuff right now for 32.00. It is normally 50.00. He is also waving the 50.00 minimum order if you try this system. Buy it you wont be disappointed.

You can get 5 different steps of Menzerna through Grizzly and you get a lot more for the money than through Cue Components. They both work very well.

Got this from Joe as well and it works great.

Duc.
