Pool halls: crybaby central

To add to the OP's story on the flip side of things I think it's funny when a friend tries to tell me about a shot or runout they did the previous night by air drawing with their fingers trying to describe the layout of the table and the 4 shot out they did. I just smile and say nice lol!

Guilty your Honor

I am sometimes that whiny guy you speak of. I am not proud of this. I feel better already being able to talk about this in 'group'. I am working on it.

Mostly my poor reaction to adversity-bad rolls, loud spectators, sharking waitresses, luckiest MF's on earth, and in general-any other vexation of the spirit, is of course at fault because 'itsnotme'.

This should provide me solace, but sometimes these persecution 'feelings' just get the better of me. Although, it's not my fault-I can see that others may not realize that, and have a less than sympathetic response. For this, I am sorry-they need to suck it up.

Have a nice day.

Ya know what's funny? Everytime I come to the forums or my local room. There are insecure people trying "self-help methods" or laying down the excuses left and right. Most people who play pool have no heart, no confidence or are mental. I was in Binghamton, NY and went outside to have a smoke and saw a guy in his car who was just playing in the tournament, smashing his head on his steering wheel because he lost. I'm still disturbed from that, no lie...weird dude.

Now, why can't people just keep their excuses to themselves?
Why do I have to hear a 10 min long story on why you missed a straight in shot? Why do I have to hear you mumbling to yourself on how to play better? And after the game is over I don't wanna hear why u lost or missed. No one cares.

Why can't people learn from their mistakes, shut their f**king mouth and continue the game?

Because it's less painful than smashing my head against the steering wheel.

One European player (Petroni?) banged his head on the table so hard that he
had to be taken to the hospital.

Snooker player Michael Holt hit the table with his fist and broke his knuckles.

At least he was smashing his head on his steering wheel outside instead of inside the pool hall.
If you are "still disturbed" over that I would hate to see how disturbed you would be if he had driven his car
through the front door, and then started smashing his head on the steering wheel.

Hahahahahaha omfg! Hahahahaha holy crap I just shit myself!!!

Myself, I have to blame the felt, the cue ball, dirt on the balls, lighting, floor, weather, noise, because it sure as hell isnt MY FAULT!

This has gone on since billiards was invented and will continue. I learned long ago to ignore it and try not to do it myself.
When did this happen and at what tournament? I've heard there have been no tournaments in Binghamton for years. I used to live there. I know the current owner of Ball Busters' quite well and played there for over twenty years when it was The Pocket Billiard Lounge. Or, was this some other place in Binghamton?

What's so weird about smashing your face into the steering wheel?

It's not that the guy went outside to smash himself on his steering room in PRIVATE, why was he followed out side by a stalker? What's wrong with this picture? Excuse me for a few minutes while I go to my car, ALONE!

Yeah what year was the Binghamton incident?? Thewre hasnt been a tournament in the binghamton area in probably a decade!!

The only halls i know of is Pocket Billiards Lounge in Binghamton. Guys and Dolls and Triangle Billiards in Endicott....

Im willing to bet money it was Jerry "Bugsy" Fields from Triangle!!

No different than any other sport in the world. There are temper tantrums in any competitive environment.
