Pool I.Q. - Little Joe Villalpando

I recently had the opportunity to meet Joe Villapando, then took three lessons from him. I am a novice at pool, but love to play. I bought his first DVD (POOL I.Q.), and viewed it before my first lesson. After my third lesson, I am still very much a novice who need lots of practice, however I am highly informed now and in three pracitice sessions, have applied Joe's techiques to my game. I just yesterday received his second DVD (POOL I.Q. Volume 2) which is Que Ball Control. I've watched it twice already and can't wait to get to the pool room. I am 100% + impressed with Joe's instruction and DVDs. I am looking forward to further instruction with him. If any of you need help with your game or even if you are an advanced player, I highly recommend that you consider Joe for some training and certainly get his DVDs. It is the best $39 I've spent!!

Joe, if you happen to see this, thanks again.

I am getting Joe's second DVD soon. The first DVD has saved me several times in league and tournament matches. I really owe Joe a lot for sharing all his knowledge.
Thanks Joe!

I was wondering if you had Joe's second DVD yet, Tanner? I would like to hear what you think of it.

30 years ago I gambled with Lil Joe here in Jackson. He not only busted me but most everyone else here too. We had a big tournament going on at the time. Joe finished second behind Buddy Hall. There was a ring game following the tournament which Joe ended up with all the cash. Lil Joe can play my friends and he does convey that knowledge to you on his CDs. Well worth the investment in my opinion.

LIl JOe's videos are terrific

:D Many years ago Lil Joe lived in New Orleans where I owned and operated the city's largest pool hall and Joe was there almost daily. I can't tell you how many average players became good players due to Joe's teachings. This was in the early nineties and I urged Joe to start teaching
professionally and he has finally done so, The people in the Iowa area have a very good instructor who doubles as a very nice human being. :D :p :D

I'm resurrecting this thread!

Yesterday I had the honor of spending several hours with Joe. We met up at Leisure Time Billiards where Joe introduced me to Duane Bowman (the owner and the father of Jesse Bowman). Their 9 ft tables were busy so we migrated to Miller Time Billiards in Davenport where Joe refreshed my memory, and worked me through the problems I was having, regarding his 3 rail kicking system. My head is really thick sometimes so I needed to work with him in person to get me ironed out. The system(s) work perfectly.... I dammed sure do not.

In just a few minutes Joe had me hitting hooked balls from every makeable angle and doing it with confidence. I KNEW that if I hit the cb as prescribed by Little Joe then I was going to hit the hooked ob. The system(s) he teaches work. They just work! Period!!

And as Gerald points out, when you get a lesson from Joe, or buy his DVD's, you're getting fantastic pool playing information from a Master player, your also getting a Master instructor.. who loves to teach, and just happens to double as a great human being.

Joe is ALWAYS a treat to be around... and a dammed sharp dresser, I might add! :groucho:

Thanks Joe for a fun, memorable, and profitable day for me. I'll come see you again soon for more of your 'stuff'. It's worth every single penny invested.. and it is an investment.. and I WILL profit from the instruction. Plus... when I go to Davenport I get to lunch on a Culvers Butter Burger. No better sandwich anywhere... imo.

JimS:

Duane is the "owner" and father of Jesse Bowman?

:D

(P.S.: sorry, couldn't resist -- when I read that part of the sentence, that was the very first interpretation that hit me. I know what you meant, though, and a great synopsis by you! I just recently purchased Little Joe V.'s two DVDs, and will be studying them very soon.)

I guess I could have phrased that a tad bit better ::o

I also have the option to go fix it... but I kind of like the fun in it. :groucho:

I've got another appointment with Joe for next Thursday to work on some other stuff. Joe hopes to soon have his third DVD ready and it will be real helpful. Lots of information that people had to pay a lot of money and a lot of years and match-ups to discover.

Soon I want to go put some bucks in Sailors pocket and get some straight pool lessons.

I ordered both of Joe's DVD's a couple weeks ago and they are terrific....

His cue ball control/clock system integrated with the tangent line is explained in a very simple fashion....One of the easiest systems to understand.

His other DVD explains 2 and three rail kicks using a failsafe easy to compute system.

I would highly suggest both tapes....I haven't told my buddies about them yet because I'm still showing off my newly acquired knowledge.

Thanks Joe

I really like Joe

I like Joe and I like the way he communicates things. I have put a lot of miles on his first two DVD's and am looking forward to the third. I've long ago lost track of how many hours I have logged on the phone with Joe.

Wonder if we could con Joe into coming down to Galveston? New Orleans is right on the way for Joe if I don't make Galveston myself. Well maybe a wee bit out of the way but not hardly. :D :D :D

It would be nice if he could get the 3rd DVD done in time for Galvestion.

I'll be seeing him next week... I'll push the idea.

Worked some more on his 3 rail kicking system and it's perfect. Simple and always ON.
