Want jelly with that roll
Take your places boys (I believe originally said by Weenie Beenie after he broke a rack)
I like JAMS: "What would Efren do" and someones "Split the Wicket" so far as the best. I can still here my friend Jim Rempe saying "Split the Wicket"...good stuff Jennie...did Geese have any good sayings???
Geese did have some great lines. If you know Geese, like I know Geese, he was the life of the party as long as he was winning.
The thing I remember most about Geese was his infectious laugh. When he'd start to cackle, everybody in the joint would laugh with him. He had an effect on people like that. Man, I sure do miss him. He will always be one of Maryland's greatest players as far as I'm concerned. Though he did compete in tournaments from time to time, he was more of a road warrior.
Interestingly, Geese and Keith went on the road together for a spell in California. Keith said the longest laugh he's ever had was when Geese was gambling with another guy, wearing some funny hat. Keith said he was laughing so hard watching the spectacle from the rail that his stomach hurt.
One thing Geese was very proud of was when he came in third place at Johnston City. He used to claim, "I was third in the world in Johnston City." He sure did love that win, even though it was a mere third place. I wish I knew the year. Is there a way to get the names of the players in those events from Johnston City? Where would they exist? I still enjoy seeing this from time to time:
Johnston City Pool Hustling.
I might as well relay my intent for creating this thread. I'm looking for catchy chapter titles, and this thread has given me a plethora of material to pore through. Some of the "pool moments" in this thread, I had never heard of before, and they're truly rare pool gems.
Please feel free to add some more. This thread is a fun read!
