This coming from a profile that was just recently created and has not posted on any other thread. I call BS on your excuse and saying a long time lurker when you have only posted on a thread regarding COVID. This is happening all over the internet on forums and social media platforms. The troll army is out in force.
Penguin has been a member since 2003 and has a few posts every year or so. Your BS call was incorrect.

I apologize if I'm interrupting important political discussions, :devilish: :poop: ⚠️, but here is an interesting interview with Barry Hearn on the subject. If you hadn't noticed, he has been running tournaments almost continuously for a few months and managing to do it under rather severe restrictions.

Personal choice could be killing others, but I'm glad you're happy with your personal choice. May you live a long life.
Sorry JAM, but then we also need to ban almost every activity that humans participate in, including driving, getting a medical procedure, taking pharmaceutical drugs, swimming, and many kinds of employment. People need to live healthy lives and strengthen their natural immune systems; lose weight, eat properly, get fresh air, natural sunshine, and exercise....it's about individual responsibility. The vast majority of actual virus deaths are suffered by unhealthy people already having at least one or more comorbidity. The war against death is positively not winnable, lockdowns and isolation are causing massive suicides, domestic abuse, alcoholism, depression, and general social maladjustment. Unless you're operating on an open body cavity, or an infected person is spitting/coughing/sneezing on your person, masks are useless...especially the common Home Depot dust mask.

I disagree, but that's okay. We're all entitled to our opinions. For every link somebody posts against masks, I can post 10 that show why masks should be mandatory.

I'm sure that you, and many others, can...and will, but that doesn't mean that they are rationally and factually based...much more likely emotional and fear based. No problem...I still like you.

I applaud Matchroom for taking precautions at each snooker event by cleaning the area thoroughly at the intervals. Some American pool events are shocking to see attendees not wearing masks and not social distancing.

It's like politics. For every pro-Trump article one can drum up, there are 10 anti-Trump articles that can be found. Same goes for Biden. This "factually based" crap is B.S. There's a reason why we have a CDC, NIAA, and FDA in the United States.

Then rather than reply emotionally, back it up with actual facts. Localities that have instituted strict lockdown and mask requirements have equal or worse medical results, not to mention the social and financial devastation.

Yes, there is a reason we have those alphabet agencies, and it's no longer for what their intended purposes were, it's now to serve the medical/pharmaseutical industries. Statists believe that government has all the answers and God-like leaders, whereas conservatives and libertarians believe in individual rights and freedoms, less government, and more individual responsibility. These so called elected/appointed political parasites are not the same freedom loving, educated, statesmen, and philosophers who founded our country, they are now the corrupt socialist and Globalist pawns of international industry and financial elitists. Only those who cannot or will not see the truth before their lying eyes will reject these truths...I won't argue with zealots and/or people who refuse to learn...I'm respectfully out, JAM.

As I said, I can post 10 links to your one link, but truthfully, I don't have time for this kind of back-and-forth. Believe what you want. Intelligent and educated people will do what's right, and then there are the others.

If you didn't look at the data, the graph almost shows that countries with low infection rates don't require masks. No surprise there, but Sweden has had a higher death rate than most countries. Norway and Denmark have strict regulations in place. Sweden has 10 times the rate of Norway and Denmark.

Mask mandates will be lifted soon here in Texas I believe, thankfully.
I've refused to wear one since the beginning, but it will be nice to see society return to normal, and put this BS behind us.
Let people open their businesses back up, kids return to school, and let people get on with their lives.
For the scared, maybe you can lock yourself in your house and social distance all you want.
More than likely, the very confused Fauci will be changing his mind once again, and a lot of you will be wearing 3 mask 🙄🙄, if people don't start taking a stand against it.

I remember when smoking was banned in bars and public places...Smokers were up in arms complaining , "Ill never set foot in a pool room or bar again"...So people got over it because smokers still play pool, but NOT INSIDE...

Then seat belts...Everyone said they were not wearing seat belts..Now 90% of everyone buckles up...

Now it's wearing masks....Seems like the same people all hate rules and laws.....In our pool room where I play you wear a mask or don't come in..
Some have said they wont play league with a mask, but, we'll see...My friend said he refused to wear a mask..We practiced the other day and he wore his mask for 2 hours and said when we were done," Wow..Playing with the mask didn't really bother me at all"..
Of course I would rather not wear a mask but if our pool room is to stay open those that want to play have to wear one...
When BCA/CSI have Vegas tourney in Sept if the casino said everyone wears a mask how many people will stay home??? Some will but the players there wont even miss them because they want to play..

Except smoking is bad, lotta factual science.
Seat belts really do save lives.
Mask, they don't shit, except pollute the environment, make a few people rich, give millions a false sense of security, and make you look like a dumbass.

masks are tin foil hats and a mind control device to propagate the common cold. (trauma based mind control for children for sure)

nothing new under the sun. people get sick, always have and always will.

the media and government can propagandize anything and always are on one topic or another.

if they wanted they can start reporting shark sightings in the ocean and create a full epidemic of encounters based off a single attack. oceans no longer safe; nature no longer safe; stay home and wait for our direction and guidance, after all we know what's best for you better than you do.

this will never end. people love the controversy too much.

This is silliness. You argue that personal responsibility addresses people dying of covid. Then you take the opposite position regarding "massive suicides, domestic abuse, alcoholism, depression, and general maladjustment." If there was any consistency to your reasoning, you'd be arguing that "massive suicides, domestic abuse, alcoholism, depression, and general maladjustment" are all easily addressed by people living "healthy lives and strengthen their natural immune systems; lose weight, eat properly, get fresh air, natural sunshine, and exercise....it's about individual responsibility."

This selective assignment of "personal responsibility" is really a shield behind which to hide your own unwillingness to simply accept any larger responsibility to society to conduct yourself so as not to harm others and unnecessarily risk their lives. My mother is 78 and has emphysema. Her dad lived to 96 with the exact same health situation. By your F'd up logic, if she gets covid and dies because you ignored basic health measures, she's a "comorbidity." By my logic, I could have had another 18 years with the most important person in my life but for uncaring, irrresponsible pos's who hide behind BS logical fallacies to make themselves feel better while fostering conditions that lead to her death, and more than 500,000 others.
