I am thinking of doing a raffle for a Porper Model B Lathe about 2 yrs old and very little use. It is located in Myerstown Pa 17067 and would be the power ball number for Pa which is 42 numbers. Each number would cost you $80 winner will pay shipping. Are there at least 42 of you out there that would be interested? Email me at mr8ball@comcast.net and let me know.
Also can you reply to me on this site. If there is enough interest I will do the raffle.

Shouldn't this post be moved to the raffle section?
 
I feel the shipping cost should be a flat rate otherwize someone could win it for $42.00 and be charged $2000.00 for shipping. Please disclose a shipping cost.
 
i'd buy a spot or two, i too would want to know shipping charges to 97045.
 
Lets see if we get enough people interested or not. I would find out the cheapest possible way to ship the item to any area in the country. The item weighs approx 150 lbs. and it would be shipped from zip 17067

The shipping shouldn't be that high if you use your head. You don't ship it by USPS. You use a service that ships stuff like this everyday. I would take a spot and leave it up to the integrety of the person shiping it.This man can't be expected to quote 42 shipping charges!

I'm in for a spot, possibly two. I've had good luck using DHL for items of this size and weight. What accessories come with the lathe?

Shipping

I shipped a model b with dhl, it cost me $150, UPS wanted $250.
I just packaged it in two boxes.
I got some appliance boxes , and made the boxes for the lathe , then I boxed all the accessories separtely.
 
UPS can ship it, if you still have the crate or make one, Under 200. from California to R.I. Hope this helps
