Potential Issue With Frost-incardona Video - Please Read Asap

I just got an email from one of the owners of Diamond Billiards (where I taped the Incardona/Frost match). [EDITED PRIOR POST - AFTER CONVERSATION WITH OWNER]

The good news!!!

I'm pretty impressed with the good sense and tactics of the owner of Diamond's. This could have blown up like a stick of dynamite, but he suggested creating a super win-win situation.

There was really no major issue, they just wanted to let me know that:

Diamonds is actually going to have HIGH QUALITY ACTION of what I TAPED UP SOMETIME IN THE NEXT WEEK OR TWO! They have a full high quality set-up and will be providing it to the WORLD! I was just informed that they have 6 (that's right six) cameras and special lighting on the feature table. They will be streaming live action starting - well now! I can't wait to get in on this.​

I'm going to pass out the few DVDs that I have and spread the good word to the world! Just imagine live action on demand. If you guys like the quality in the DVD, just wait until you see the real deal.

This should be a great way to sweat some one pocket live action.

(oh, the only misunderstanding was that Diamonds believed the video was for personal use only; I thought it was mine to pass out to you guys. That got straightened out pretty quick)

I'm not sure what "to discuss this matter" means to you guys, but I've never heard of a good "discuss this matter." I left him two messages and an email to contact me, but nothing so far.

So for all you folks, here's my side of the story:
1) Diamond Billiards knew I was taping. And I specifically mentioned that I was would be posting/distributing the video.
2) Billy and Scott knew I was taping (The camera was right in front of them, on a ledge)
3) The only issue I can see is that I am charging $5.00 for this thing.

So, the long and short of it is:

I still plan on shipping all the videos tomorrow.

If there is ANY dispute by Diamond's, Billy or Scott regarding the fact that I charged anyone for the video and they didn't get a cut, I will REFUND EVERYONE'S MONEY. But you can keep the video, and shipping charges will be on me. I'll consider it a donation to support 1 pocket and the players.

I will let everyone know of any developments.

Do not worry about refunding my money give it to Diamond Billiards via playing time for yourself:D
 
sounds like some has a tight a$$ ring, honestly $5 is a gift, if I had a pool room I would encourage that all the time, as long as the players are cool with it, the lawyers have fvucked up everything to the point everyone so worried about getting sued that fun things cant happen anymore.

Probably heard you were charging for the DVD's and they wanted to make a buck too. When they find out the vast sums involved from selling the DVD's at five dollars each I'm pretty certain they will lose interest. Let's see counting hours spent, materials, and distribution I figure you are making . . . well, I figure you are losing money on every DVD and you aren't likely to make it up on volume.

Hmm. What is Diamonds setting up to tape (I must have missed this somewhere). You weren't taping the same match they were with the 6 cameras were you? If there's any issues like they want a cut, just hit us all up for another 5 bucks:p and give that to them. Anyway I hope it all works out. Personally I can't hardly stand to watch recordings of ninball, Ok live but on tape it's really over simplified. I'll stick to one pocket tapes, I may learn something;)

Seems like Diamonds has it's head on straight and is trying to get the word out. It seems like coincidence that I was on the same page. They're trying to promote pool as best they can.

I don't have a link to their stream, but I think they have a thread here somewhere ;)

Do not refund my money. Just send me the DVD and go and use the money at Diamond Billiards. I will also purchase the Diamond Billiards stuff when it comes out. We need more guys like you. Just think of all the stuff thats going on all over the world that we could be in on if someone taped it for us to view.

Nah. If you feel the need to donate, buy a live pool feed when it comes out. Or give to the action report. We need more support for this type of thing. But if that fiver is burning a hole in your pocket, tip somebody a little extra. It's hard to be in food service ;)
