Prayers needed for Terry Ardeno

I have to sort this out tonight or tomorrow

Thank you for letting us know about Terry's situation.

I sent you a PM

Terry will definitely remain in my thoughts until he has recovered.

I was wondering if Terry had ordered any of the new AZB T-shirts yet?? I think the "Got Rep" one definitely reflects how everyone here respects Terry.

It could just lay over a chair where he can see it & fight for the day that he can wear it.

It will take some time to get it delivered but in the meantime I can "loan" you mine & you could return it when Terry's is delivered.

What do you think ??

Meeze :)

I'll have to sort out details tonight or tomorrow, I'm trying to beat local rain and major storms moving into the area working on an outdoor construction project. I just have a private paypal account so I don't know if people will be able to paypal me the funds or not. I'm not too worried about that, I'm fine with a pledge now and checks in the mail from the people wanting to chip in.

I don't know which one would be best or what is available but an AZB T-Shirt along with whatever else we do sounds like a great idea. As I suspected raising funds for brightening Terry's life was as easy as making a suggestion. Amazing how quickly people swarm to support him but that is the kind of guy Terry is, he brings out the best in all of us.

A special thanks to everyone that has posted into this thread and those that have only read and sent prayers or positive thoughts. The gift(s) will be from all AZB'ers and the prayers and positive thoughts are most important of all.

Hu

Count me in Hu..

We ALL need someone praying for us! Terry is one of the best too!

fatboy,

All the information I get is through Terry and I don't ask too much. He has had recurring infections since a few days after surgery. My opinion is that it is an operating room infection that they have never really cleared up however that is only my opinion. They were trying to fuse three levels so deep infection is very serious.

They have brought in an infectious disease specialist. Talking to Terry it sounds like they are culturing a sample to discover exactly what they are fighting. In the meantime they have already taken pretty radical steps to fight the infection. It does sound like any course of treatment will run for weeks or months even if he goes home in the next week or two.

Those of us that aren't there and privy to all information can best help Terry by giving our support and prayers without questioning his decisions or his doctor's decisions.

Hu

Thanks Hu,

For replying to my post, our concern is the sqame out dear friend Terry, I thanks you for replying for 2 reasons, #1 is the most important, but #2 is as well,

1, I really care about Terry and as you know am all to familiar with operations and subsiquent problems, sounds like he has a weak immune system and is prone to infection-that would be the best possible news because over time be can build that up. Sepsis is much more dangerous in the short term. Thats why I was asking. Terry is young and i'm sure he will bounce back. Alot of people dont understand the stress a sugery can put on the body-17 months since my last one and i'm still recovering. It can take 5 years.

Hu, Please let us/me know anything more you find out about Terry. I have a keen interest in medicine and can call a few of my Dr's and get some insight to the seriousness or staying the lack of seriousness of Terrys problems. Doctors are apt to discuss candidally about patients that arnt their own becasue there is no liability in doing so. thats even better than a second opinon. I just want to help.

2, I'm glad you responded to me because Hu as you know we were good friends here for along time, and yes I was out of line, I sent you a sincer email 2 weeks ago-I meant what I said, incase you didnt get it I will say it again. I dont have any family and my friends mean one hell of alot more to me than people realize. Not the phony ones because I have a nice car, but real ones who offered me help like you did. So again I al-ppologise for what I said and did. My excuses are my own, but it been a tough year and sometimes my mood hasnt been the best. I said some bad things, wrong things. I cant un-do them, just like the bad stuff I did from 93 to 96-I cant undo that. But what I can do and do-do is after a appology is make an effort to do the right thing when ever I can. So Hu i'm sorry and i sincerly hope you accept my heart-felt appology.

PS: What are we all gonna do for Terry?? There was a big thread once about who is the nicest poster on AZ, remember that thread? Terry was the pick of almost everyone, myself included. We need to be there for our friend. What would make him the happiest. I wonder if he can watch matches in his hospital room? perhaps a portable DVD player and a bunch of matches? Thats better than flowers. We have to do this for Terry and make him comfortable, he knows we love him, we need to make his time the best we can. Thats why I owe alot to AZ, when I was crippled up this was my social life. The time is the hard part lets make it easy for terry to pass. any ideas????

Terry is being well taken care of

fatboy,

I do believe that you are sincere. The best thing to do for Terry is to let his medical team do their job without interference and let Terry get some rest in the hospital without unsolicited calls tiring him. His condition is very serious and not even his doctors know exactly how serious at the moment. No amount of clout or contacts can make them tell what they don't know. A major part of our earlier conflicts were you interfering in a medical case when you didn't have a fraction of the information needed to make the statements you did.

If you are as well versed in medical knowledge as you think you are you already know all you need to about Terry's case from what I have posted. Read over the posts, connect the dots, and then keep quiet in public about any assumptions you come to. His medical team is investigating even as we type. They are aggressively treating him while culturing to find the most effective treatment for exactly what he is fighting. Nothing more to be done. My only complaint with his team is that they should have done these things a long time ago but some have just been brought onboard recently.

He is being very closely monitored and cared for now and the infection should be dealt with. After the infection is controlled and he is stronger it will be time to assess the condition his back is in.

Terry has been a blessing to this forum so its only right that we pull together as a collective group and pray/send well wishes his way when he needs it the most. I'm truly sorry to hear what he is going through. Hu, thank you so much for keeping us in the loop.

Good luck, Terry

You are one of the best friends pool has ever had. Please recover completely, as we need your voice of reason and history. I will definitely pray for you and hope they help more than my prayers for Randi. Hang in there, my friend,
Grady

And for those who are not religious, just think about him in a positive way. A few (very few) studies have shown that groups can have a positive effect.

While good intent does not have to be religious, I think that those with a great deal of faith do better.

Religious or not it can't hurt to send some heart felt positive thoughts his way. Close your eyes for a moment, feel yourself relax and desire the best for him.

"And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy." Max Erman

Amen - Well said

Nosocomial infections (an infection obtained in the hospital that he didn't have when he came in) are more common than hospitals like to admit. http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/eid/vol4no3/weinstein.htm

I am praying for Terry and his family in his time of suffering. Terry is always there for everyone and it's the least we can do to reciprocate.

Let me know where to send the Paypal dollars. Thanks Hu for the updates. I like the T-shirt and DVD ideas.
