Predator REVO Limited Edition

That's not a predator manufacturing problem ... That's a you have ocd with chalk and it's caused you to destroy your shaft with sand paper problem lol

I couldn't completely get the chalk out of the shaft and when I had it professionally cleaned they used a fine sand paper so I stated doing the same. I guess eventually the shafts got too thin and the laminates would start to come appart. Also I've never owned a break cue so I was breaking with it and apparently you shouldn't be breaking with it, so a vendor at one of the pool tournaments said.

About 3 months ago I invested in the new OB Rift break cue but still continued sanding the Vantage shaft to get the chalk out of it. Anyway, I knew I was doing damage to the shaft but I couldn't stand it's appearance when it had a tint of blue from the chalk plus I never applied a sealer after cleaning it and would sand it to get the chalk out.

I practice 6-10 hours a day and now use the new Kamui .98 chalk and love the fact that I only need to chalk every 2-3 games. There is little to no dust and my hand does not get blue from chalk dust in the table cloth. With the REVO shaft all my problems are solved plus I'll continue using my OB Rift break cue.

It's 8am, going to hit the practice room. Later.

I played 40 hrs over the last three weeks, and only just cleaned the shaft yesterday for the first time. There was a small amount of dirt and chalk residue. The wipe cleaned it off in a couple of seconds.

It does get dirty, but at a much slower rate than a wood shaft. And when it does get dirty all it takes is a quick wipe down with an alcohol pad and it's back to new.

Hey Scott, that standard shaft that you played on your Sam was the dirtiest, bluest, stick I ever saw. Your cleaning the Revo after only three weeks has to be a record.

If you ever run into sidepocket show him what a real shaft looks like.

Side Pocket, AKA Scott Brazier.

I have to confess, at times I am very rough on my cues and I have a bit of OCD with keeping my shaft clean. With the REVO shaft this should no longer be a problem. Very excited about the REVO shaft.

Check out......The Break Room in Duluth Minnesota. They have a Facebook page and there is a pro tournament June 10th - 12th.

Beating Shane's Billiard University score and the ten ball ghost on a ten-foot table, I need to get myself some sand paper if that's what it takes.

You'd be surprised what a little grit does to your stroke when the shaft is sticking to your hand. I practice, "drills", 6-10 hours a day and I'm washing my hands, depending on the humidity, up to 12 times a day just to keep my shaft and hand from getting gritty. I can't tell you how dry my hands are from washing them all day long, but it's all about priorities and playing pool is my priority. I wanted to play in the pro tournament at the Break Room but they said pros only. When I saw the 16 players I was a bit upset being 2 of the players are not currently pros. I've played in a couple pro tournaments but they were open to other players as well. Next year this time, practicing 6-10 hours/day, I hope to be a real professional pool player.

Okay, got 2 more hours to hit 10 hours on the table today, ttyl.

That's some serious dedication, friend.
I wish you all the best of rolls.
I took a gander at some of your youtube videos - very impressive.
And I thought I was all tough having just finished a 15-hour week of "drills" on the table!

:D

Don't sell yourself short, 15 hours/week doing drills is good. Most players will just play 9-Ball, 8-Ball, Straight Pool, and think it's good practice. It is good to keep your stroke but if you really want to improve your game you need to practice heavy with the drills. You are on the right path, keep it up.

Wait a second.

A guy that practices drills every single day and that prefers using low deflection shafts, and that can actually play pretty sporty.

I bet all the old timers are spinning in their graves :grin-square:

That says a lot. Bob Jewett said that if it came in a smaller diameter it could well become his main player. That says a lot. I've played about 40 hrs so far, in the last 3 weeks with mine...and I LOVE IT. That said, I'm someone who adapts easily to playing with anything! LOL

I play with Bob every Sunday and he came in with his. It had a 12mm shaft (which he still thinks is too big). He played very well with it, ran 35 and out against me. I think that was the first time he hit with it.

I hit a few balls and liked it, but I don't like the idea of having to send it to Predator to get a new tip.

Ricky Schroeder had a Revo in Poolhall Junkies. Sounded like a gunshot whenever he used it.

You don't need to send it to predator, there are instructions for other vendors to replace the tip. What to do and what not to do.

This is the first I've heard of a Revo in a custom size - 12mm.
Yet they say only available in 12.8mm to public.

That may be...but I've already seen tips replaced on Revo shafts by other professional cue repair guys, so it can be done, and done without voiding the warranty. That's all I was saying.

Here are the instructions.

yea and if you ask your dealer no one should change the oil in your car but them lol I'll take the risk if I get one. I'm not sending it back to predator every time i need a tip.

My friend who won his at the expo had the predator tip taken off within a week because he hated it and guess what.. It still plays fine and no damage was down!

I hear ya. I sent my OB2 into Muller and it took 3 months to get it back. My buddy builds and repairs cues so I will have him replace my tip when needed.

I really like how the Victory tip plays. What kind of tip did your friend put on the REVO?

he went to a kamui clear soft .. He just wasn't a fan of the victory tips. I've been playing victory medium with good results

seriously why would a company think you would be ok with losing your shaft for 3 months for a tip? Thats crazy
