Proof and Truth!!!!!!!!

Aaron drove over 60 miles and spent in excess of $80 to get the Q to RUSS in order to get the Q signed as fast as possible.Aarons first choice however, was to have his wife forge the signature, because "Shes good that that stuff".. For reasons beyond his control it took apprx 2 wks longer than anticipated for the Q to get back to him. How many other Q builders/refinishers would do the same??? I commend Aaron for the effort he put into getting this Q back to the customer.46 days is acceptable turnaround time to you?

Honestly, after reading the other thread I see now why I shouldnt have sent this cue his way.

I only have one question. You paid $1500 for that???????

No I didn't, but thanks for inquiring.
As I told Aaron:
**08-14-2006, 01:48 PM**
"The cost isn't the issue. You promised me 3 different times you would save the signature. Then after you lost it, assured me you would send it to Russ to resign and it would take a additional 5 days, to which I agreed.
Now you are saying it isn't a big deal, well maybe not to you, but it is to me.

The point is, it was a signed cue when I sent it to you, and I wouldn't expect anything less in return."

I expected to take some heat over this post, but it is a small price to pay to warn others of PainPools actions. I just wish I would have seen the other post before sending him my cue. :(

Repairs and Stuff

This kind of thing is my worst nightmare. I worry a bunch when working on a customers cue. Anything can happen and if it does you just have to try to make it right, which it looks like the guy did. I bet about every cue maker has hosed up at least one customers cue. I'm sure it's a bad feeling to have to tell the customer something went wrong...probably about the same feeling as getting kicked in the bag. I havent't had to do it yet but I'm pretty small time. I suppose the more cues you handle the greater the odds.

I guess the real question is: "If someone thrills 8 out of 10 customers, and really pisses off the other 2, do you really want to deal with him?". In Aaron's case, it's obvious that he has plenty of buddies here on the board in that 80% group that are thrilled with him, and think that myself, Asiasdad, Sore_Aintya, and the others who fall on the short side of the 8 out of 10, must be loonies who are 'out to get' poor old Aaron. Sobeit.

I am not upset he lost the signature, I'm not unreasonable, I understand things happen.
My problem is lack of communication on his part, the extended time frame, his conflicting and ever changing excuses, the fact that he thought it was acceptable to have his wife sign Mr. Espiritus name to the cue, The fact that I was the one that had to call Russ and ask him to resign the cue because Aaron screwed it up, the list goes on and on.
I tried to limit all communication to PMs and email so I had everything in writing in case something like this happened, sadly I was right.
This was/is my playing cue, I'm not trying to get it back to sell/trade it, I just want my daily shooter back.:(

Well, the mail has came and went today, still no cue.

Aaron answer me this, what address did you send the cue too?

...and my admiration and loyalty only grows when it comes to Mike Webb and the work he performs.

I hope it works out for you.

Well, when something like this happened, what is the customer want from the cue repair person? I mean Pain already shipped the cue back to Sore, whole lot longer than Sore expected. I mean, what else can be done to fix the problem?

What's the fair resolution for this?

Thank's
Steve

""..I can get the marker and my wife can stidy his signature and get it right. Remember I can continue to wipe it off until it's right. Shes good at that stuff."

lmfao

Maybe he isn't looking for a solution, he's just posting this as a warning to others and explaining his plight.

You should have left the signature off!

Unless you are in Japan. IS IT A SWEET REFINISH?????
IS RUSS'S SIGNATURE ON IT. IT HAS A BETTER FINISH NOW THAN WHEN RUSS SHOT IT I WOULD BET. SHOULDN'T YOU MENTION THAT STUFF TOO.
just shouting

I personally like posts like this. Mainly so I can see how the business person responds. Some things you don't put in the public eye, regardless of what you say in the confines of your own shop. Offering to fake a signature is just plain messed up. What if the cue was a collectible with a signature that had gotten messed up. Is it worth much with a fake signature, especially if it gets noticed? The cue most certainly goes into that iffy well it might be original, might be a nice copy category.

While this cue probably will never fall into that category, the mere offer is enough to make me never want a cue that Aarron has had in his shop.

WOW!!
What a headache.
$149. paid by you
$80 or so paid by him.
40 or so days.
Aaron gets bad press.
And the cue is 10xs better looking than it was.

Sounds like Aaron really got shafted in this learning experience.

So basically it took longer than planed and he did the work for appx. $70 give or take..
I have been waitin on my SW for 8 years... DAMN HER!!!

I'm not taking sides here but $149 is the price that PainPool was offering to everyone for a refinish.

If PainPool promises to keep the sig and accidently removes it then he should do what it takes at his cost, even if it's $80, to correct the mistake.

I think the mistake was promising to keep th sig. All the issues seems to stem from that - not his workmanship or anything else.

I have had several signed cues refinished and NOT ONE of the folks who refinished them would guarantee that they could save the signature. Even for those who do, often times the area around the signature will darken as the 2 dissimilar finishes age. Nice looking job on the cue, Aaron...too bad about the rest of it.
Joe

I always thought the signature couldn't be saved when you refinished a cue. I would send a signed cue back to the person that made it. If he's dead, then I would never take a chance on losing the signature.

That's 'cause you don't have Aaron's wife! I could use a woman like that. Lucky devil.
