I think its been made quite clear by now that this is not a Nazi symbol.
So the question remains, why would someone use a symbol that is so easily confused with it?
Perhaps this thread is precisely the reason why.
The swastika is an ancient symbol that has generally always been associated with positive things. There are MANY religions, races of people and cultures that have held this symbol dear and of the utmost importance. These people have been literally ROBBED of a major part of the heritage and history by the terrible things people have done in association of a form of this symbol. This would be like telling Christians that the cross should never be used again. Can you imagine that by wearing a cross around your neck, all of a sudden people would now call you a Nazi?
There has been a movement around the world by many to erase or at least attempt to disassociate the horrible tragedies associated with the swastika and allow it to have the meaning and interpretation that it once held for the thousands of years before it.
Will that ever happen? Who knows, but just look at the knowledge and understanding this trivial little thread about a silly pool case has brought to some many of the people here. This is a good a thing, spreading knowledge and understanding are good things, this is how people change the world.
Maybe someone who learned something here will change someone elses world one day.
Just a thought.
