I didn't see the match, but I did see this little clip

http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/55669268/highlight/577679

Looks like Raj plays the 7 instead of the 6, and then his opponent points it out afterwards. Raj shakes his hand and breaks down his cue.

I'm assuming that little mishap combined with being down 8-2 is why Raj conceded. Although I'm not sure I could concede there, just because even with BIH it's not exactly a road map to get out.

You can hear him say "&^%^&& cyclops balls ". Dont blame him. In the heat of runing out, its easy to make that mistake with the colors on thoses balls.
Same thing happened when the " TV " balls came out. Its all a joke!
Tv, Cyclops, whatever, dont show up any better that standard colors from the distance the cam is from the table.
Its a marketing ploy to sell more balls. Rather see them play with the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader balls....yea..that might make pool interesting again....maybe.

Well....,

I get that he felt like the match was over from there, but he should have played it out. I understand his frustration, but 4 balls to play with a some what tuff 8 ball, should of played it out.

Hey, it happens. Down 8-2, tough to fault Raj for conceding.

They should bring this conceding idea into other sports. Would shorten up a lot of golf, tennis matches let alone the big four sports of hockey, football, baseball and basketball. Maybe more people would watch........oh wait.

I hate the colors of the Cyclops Balls. I am to old to learn them. The only time I see them is when I watch a Tournament using them, and I never know what ball the Player should shoot next.

OK, so it is the Cyclop colors that explain why Raj didn't play form the orange five to the green six.

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense!

A good friend of mine did that in back to back games during a big tournament in Vegas. We still laugh about it to this day. Not funny though at that time. It cost him the match. Damn Cyclops balls.

Had trouble with the colors when first used in 2013. Played position for the 7 rather than the 6 several times. No problems this year. Have to admit the Cyclop cue ball is more irritating to me. Kind of looks translucent under the Diamond lights. Sort of see two edges to the ball when I aim. These guys appear to be using a "measle" cue ball instead. How lucky they are!

Those balls are horrible, SBE was my first time playing with them
and it sucked. You really have to pay attention.

I don't like concessions of games or matches, but for the record concessions are commonplace in golf matchplay although I get your point.

That's giving your opponent a 3 foot putt.....same as giving your opponent a straight in 9 ball.

apples and oranges

Conceding

I don't think you should ever concede.

Only exception is if the shooting player is on the hill with a 'gimme' out.

I liked the rule that conceding a game also includes an additional one game bein added to the other player.

Conceding is bad for the spectators and the game. There have been too many 'turn a rounds' in pool matches. And other sports.

It's kinda scary - I agree with Watchez!!!
