As soon as I can get just a little bit of time, I'll post what we're doing Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I have quite a few things I want to accomplish at this seminar and hope I get the chance to work with everyone there. I want to pair up as many mechanics as I can, and go through everything we're going to be doing step by step. Keep in mind guys, this is not about recovering pool tables for a room owner, this is about us! Simonis has donated all the cloth for 14 tables, so I hope that speaks for how Simonis feels about this seminar. As I've been saying over the last couple of years guys, this is OUR industry, and WE decide how our job is done, not the Pool table manufactures or the cloth manufactures, and it's time for US to start taking a stand in our OWN profession, and do something to correct the ram-pet and loose requirements needed to be called a mechanic. Complaining about hacks won't stop them, but raising the bar of expertise will make it much harder for them to follow, and believe me when I say, "Pool table owners all across this country" are tired of paying for substandard work being done on their pool tables"...I know, I've worked from coast to coast and seen pretty much the same thing every where I've been, hack work. The only way to make a difference is to come together and create something that means something, but you have to start SOMEWHERE!;)

I'm planning on attending. I've worked with the RKC before & look forward to doing it again! Should be a great time meeting up & working with everyone

I've tried various methods that Glen uses, and wanted to check out some that I've wondered about in the past, so here's another perfect opportunity to get out and finally see that man at a pooltable.
Instead of on a phone while we're working or driving, or both...lol

Plus an opportunity to meet a bunch of you at one location- too cool, and alot of fun I believe!

1st annual Billiards Mechanics of America Rendezvous!:D

Well, after spending the day with you yesterday, my advice is to work on that 3" stretch a litte more..hehe;)

Not sure when I'll get to the place but at some point over the weekend.
I have a 58" table light (with a 2x48" light fixture) that we were going to get rid of so if anyone wants it (freebie) let me know and I'll throw it in the truck.
A bit dusty in the pic but a little sanding and fresh stain and it will look good. If more then 1 taker you can draw a card for it.

If no one else wants it, I'll take it.

Glen we chatted on the phone about this and I am stoked to attend. I am just verifying that the course is 1 day and is held 3 separate days.

If so I will for sure be driving down to IL (it's only 100 miles from me) I just need to pick the day.

Thanks

TJ

Frame repair, slate leveling, and bed cloth installation is Saturday, Sunday is cushion replacement, sub-rail extension, cutting cushions, facing replacement, rail recovering and reassembly. There is no way of showing all these different things in one day, so I broke them down into 2 full days, with Monday being a clean up day, to finish anything left to be done.

Showing how to level slates and install bed cloths is going to be very important, so I have to use Saturday for that. Then the full break down of rails is just as important, so that is why I set Sunday aside for that.

Thanks, as I said on the phone my concern is the bed cloth replacement (or rather you're method). But I would like to see the other day. Maybe I will see how the drive is and make it both days.

BTW, I got those 1/4" facings. Are those softer then the Neoprene you use? I really have no basis for comparison but I have held facing materials in the past and they seem softer then I would expect.

Hope I can make it, if so see you then!

You beat me to it buddy, driving down the road is not the best time to post this info:D but yes, we should all plan on getting together at about 6 pm at the Super 8, so that we can see who's there and not.
