Reed is a very congenial guy.
Back in the mid or early 90's there was theMcdermott event at the Sands in Vegas. I was up with a short guy named Itule and rReed was to play a buddy of mine from Denver named Henry Granis.
Henry could be a bit squeirrly, but the guy played pretty good. Amy wasy, they are about to forfeit Henry when he comes running in all out of breath, but he made it/ Reed had just put his money in the table when Henry asked if he could hit a few. Reed gave a rather puzzeled look, but said sure. Henry knocked em off and Reed reached in hiis pocket pulled out a coin and said call it. The coind hit the table and instead of calling it Henry asked him if he had a tapper. Reed said sure, reached in hi8s case and handed it to Henry. Reed held the coind high as if to flip and Henry notice3d Reed had just bought a roll of quarters. Henry asked if he could buy half the roll from him and Reed looked again, a bit puzzeled and said sure and counted them out. Reed for a third taime held the coin out ready to flip and again Henry stopped him asked Reed if he had any powder. Reed again, said, SURE. He handed Henry a bottle of powder and Henry asked him where he was going and Reed responded, to get something to drink and asked Henry if he would like something and Henry replied coffee. Reed said, You guessed it, SURE. Everyone around is falling off their seats alughing by now and even Reed seemed amused by the whole thing. Well, Reed comes back with a drink and Henry's coffee, and patiently observed Henry preparing his coffee. You got it, Reed held out the coin and Henry asked, do you mind if I flip it. Reed cracked up and said,,,,,,,SURE. Henry won the flip and was about to break when Reed abruptly stopped hime. Reed laid his cue on the table ran over to Henry and stuffed his shirt tail into his pants. Everyone is just rolling now. Henry said thanks and made it on the pop. You got it, Reed shouts, SURE.
I guess you would have to have been there but, it was a very funny episode. Reed ended uup winning the match and playing real well.
We all go to the coffee shop late to get something and Reed is sitting there and I lead us to a table right beside Reed. He takes one look at Henry and cracks up. We all sat there laughing for quite a whild and the waitress brings the check and Henry holds his high in the air and yells hey Reed. Reed looked at him and everyone around just blew up as Reed says not in your life buddy. Henry lets out a sigh and says SURE.
I value $Bills opinion a lot, and wouldnn't pretend to know more about Reed than he, but Reed is a natural player and if he really wanted it, he would be ready in less than 4 months, Toomuch natural talent. But, on the other hand $Bill should know and priorties do change. Once you leave this game, it is never quite the same.
