Refund on its way to Saddlebow as promised!

I just wanted to let everyone here know that I express mailed out Saddlebow's refund today. He will have it tomorrow before 3:00 pm his time! I just wanted everyone here to know that I am a honorable person and I do what I say I am going to do!
I had to go a step further with this issue though. I also offered Saddlebow a 35% discount on any cue that I have posted up here. This is my way of trying to make things right! Maybe one day he will take me up on this! If not I know that I have done my part!

I'm very sorry that those that thought they were doing the right thing by trying to nail you to the wall were maybe a little too quick in going about it. Sadly, it's a reflection of this site.
The up-side is that your honorable act is also a reflection of this site.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. And for also believing me! After all you are only as good as your word! I had to go a step further with this issue though. I never had any doubt that you would be refunding his money asap, the problem was that it had to be asap instead of immediately which isn't fair to the customer. I think the lesson to be learned here is not to spend the customer's money until he has confirmed that he has received the item and that there are no issues. I'm sure you won't be making that mistake in the future though! Good job coming through in a timely manner though not withstanding the initial mistake.

I do want to tell all that I have known Doug for quite a while (years) and have always found him to be ENTIRELY honorable. He comes to all the Shooters-Olathe events. Doug, I do believe:

You made a mistake.
You know it now.
You NEVER had a single devious thought in your head. At all.
You are honorable and your reputation is intact.
I do understand the frustration on the part of the buyer. $1200 is a lot of money.
....And Watchez, great post!

I think that it's really unfortunate that many cuemakers are forced into situations like this by not having enough operating capital to get by, other than hand to mouth and sale to sale. Doug certainly has enough people vouching for his work and word and I really hope that he is able to make a good enough living at his craft to not be forced to do things like this again. Good luck to you, sir. You're a class act.

All I can say is that live and learn!! With the economy the way that it is, it is really tough for some fo us. I assure you that this is one mistake that wont be repeated!
