ditto... I think there are a lot of people who are gonna give it to him today, and the next day, and so on and so on and so on. Eddie is wasting his time by posting on AZ Billiards anymore.

On a side note, let me explain something. The money and cue were always the most unimportant things to me. My time, my peace of mind... those are the things that you disrupted. I just want you to see that things like this can have far reaching complications for your customers, besides the grief they have to suffer through.

Eddie, stop making the same mistakes over and over again. And stop playing people for fools. I've owned cues from some of the best known and respected cuemakers. I've played pool for over 40 years. I know what's going on. I know the process very well, when it comes to ordering/buying cues. This aint my first rodeo.

If Eddie is offering to make you another cue free of charge then I would accept his offer and have him make one of his J/B cues to match the playing cue that you finally got. His J/B cues are pretty awesome. He recently did one with a Tulip wood butt, black forearm, and hoppe ring.
I know you went through a lot, but there really isn't anything to lose,
Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have a break cue and a custom Ned Morris jump cue. I'm set in that department.

I want this Eddie Wheat thing too just go away. I've had enough. I've never asked anything from Eddie except what I paid for. That's all.

There have been several very thoughtful cuemakers on this forum that offered to build a cue for me, fee of charge. For those offers I'm very appreciative. But I could never accept something like that. That just wouldn't be me. I wouldn't feel right getting something that I didn't pay for.

As far as working with Eddie again... that's not going to happen.

All I want now is to have absolutely no contact with EW. Not by letters, emails, PMs, phone calls, or carrier pigeons. I'd like nothing better than to forget this whole bad deal, and relax and enjoy life.

One other thing. Before the cue arrived (and at that time didn't look like it ever would) two members offered to send me some money to help what looked to be a total loss for me. I had to turn down those offers, too. Those offers of help meant more than I can describe. They have my utmost thanks.

WOW...no shit? HOW NICE IS THAT?????? I'll tell ya what, members here definitely stick together. I bet there isn't another internet forum where members send in their own to protect another.
 
I try to stay out of threads like this, but I can't believe you have said time and time again that you were sending Charlie an 8 point cue. You even responded with this:

Now your excuse is you got it mixed up with another cue? I have over 20 cues in progress and a lot more orders not started yet. I know who each cue is going to and what they are getting. Everything is also in my computer. If I'm not sure about something when working on the cue, I go check.

I can't believe that you can look at one of the cues you built yourself and not be 100% certain if it has 4 points or 6 points.

I have nothing against you Eddie. I really don't care if you sell your cues for less than other cue makers, but come on. The wrong number of points in a cue and over an inch too long? Those are mistakes somebody who has been in the business for two months wouldn't make and you claim to have been doing this for 18 years.

This ia purest speculation on my part but I have a sneaking suspicion that Eddie got these shafts nearly finished or finished from someone else and didn't even consider the length.

Of course if he can't measure 58 inches closer than plus or minus an inch that does leave one to wonder about the value of his custom fitting to the individual!

I really don't know how he'd think that was an 8-pointer. The gap between the points .
Also he said this was his FIRST pointed cue. I thought it was the only one too.
How the shafts ended up at 30 1/3 is just beyond me.
I was able to see the first 8 point cue that Eddie has ever made - it's Charlie Edwards' cue - and it's beautiful. There are some minor flaws that EDDIE pointed out to me - but it's nothing major - and he has already alerted the buyer to the imperfections. For a first try - it was pretty damned good. Tony took a picture of me holding that cue - it will belong to Charlie in about a week.

The butt should measure 57-3/4" from edge of j-collar to edge of butt plate and the shafts should be exactly 28- 1/4" long... due to capped ivory ferrules I added in to make up the difference on the butt shortness..

Also I DID enclose partial refund of 150.00 gc it's in the white envelope inside the very end of the box on the side w/ the duct tape !

I'm sure I measured the cue correctly because you stressed upon me the criticalness of the cue being a max 58"... if I screwed up I am very sorry becasue I did that with a previous customer due to case length restrictions and didn't include the j-pin length in the measurement !

So once again please check the box at the end with the duct tape and let me know the status !

You know, I just reopened this thread to catch up on things, and I happened to re read this first post of EW. I can't believe that he is actually trying to spin this thing like he is still going to salvage his reputation! Instead of offering up a true and sincere apology, the FIRST thing he says is about how his cue plays great. He can't stop promoting for ONE SECOND and be real! This is sooooo insulting to everyone who knows better.

This is like pulling out a peanut out of a pile of cr*p and offering it up as a gourmet treat! :angry: Ignore all that, let's just focus on the good stuff! Anyone else going for this? Didn't think so!


Eddie, when this cue thing doesn't work out (and it surely won't), you should try politics. ONLY a politician can say and do the things you do with a straight face.
