I am in talks right now with an eye doctor from India regarding my dominant eye and it's focus.

After discussing various options he says that LASIK surgery would be best but he would like to add a twist. He is going to insert an eye right in the exact middle of my forehead, this will become my dominant eye. He will adjust my other two eyes to focus on the line of sight of my new eye. This will give me better depth perception as well as a tighter aiming line.

I will let you know how it goes.
 
Alignment should be fine. Winking will be a new task to learn but I am guessing being winked at by an eye on the forehead is quite sexy!
 
Only having 1 eye will completely remove the ability to align your head correctly.

It's like shooting a gun with no sight. You need to line up your eye and the sight to maintain the direct path.

With 2 eyes, yes you have a dominant eye on each shot, but to align correctly you have to find the medium between that eye and the weaker.

Actually I will have 3 eyes, 1 dominant eye and 2 support eyes. The two support eyes always follow the dominant eye in a perfect pyramidal fashion. Just like a heads up display on a jet fighter. :)
 
Anyone remember the Tucker car that had one headlight in the middle of the grill? As you turned the wheels the light turned also.

I'm waiting for Earl or someone else to show up at a tournament wearing sniper goggles and then someone else start selling them on AZ. Johnnyt
 
What a novel approach to aiming/sighting. Triangulation of the target. This could sell alot of DVDs :)

SERIOUSLY WRONG. What's worse? ME. I like this thread.

Over the top ridiculous is good. Keeps us sane. Sort of like the Jerry Springer show (but for the grace of God go I).

This is a great example of how mother nature's design's are far from perfect. A perfect human would have a third centered eye, as you suggest, so we could aim pool shots more easily. We would also have at least one eye in the back of our head so we could see when somebody (or a lion) was trying to sneak up on us.

A third eye in the middle of the forehead was common practice in India for many years however as of late most real players have had them removed. These people are easy to spot---they have a red or black dot on their forehead to hide the scare.

My advice---don't do it.
 
Johnnyt...LOL! Just before I read your post I was thinking the exact same thing. The Tucker was a real innovation, ahead of it's time. Like many innovative ideas, it went the way of the Edsel! :grin:

Aren't you going to need a fourth eye inserted on the side of your head for those behind-the-back shots?

If I were designing a human from scratch, I'd put an eye on the hand between the thumb and index finger, so you wouldn't even need to bend down to have perfect sighting.

Also, by moving your hand, you would be able to easily look under, inside, and around almost anything without moving your head. Wouldn't that be useful?

I had a similar thing done through Sears.... now when I wink..my garage door goes up and down
 
The third eye in metaphysics is often related to the ability of mediums to talk with those who have passed on. Therefore you should have a much easier time with seeing the ghost ball.

You will be more able to predict the outcome as some have thought one can also see the future with the third eye. Of course this could be a handicap as you will also know that you are going to lose !

Evolution is still happening, so we have hope if enough pool players contribute to the world-wide gene pool, and I know they're trying...! :) Actually, nature (evolution) gave us other coping mechanisms for sneaking through the jungle without being eaten by lions etc...instinct, anxiety, fear, ability to learn from experience (or stay stupid and get eaten).
