A tragic accident has claimed a man who was liked and respected by all who knew him. He will truly be missed by all. RIP my friend and condolences to the family and close friends.

Very sad news indeed. Doug was one of the people that I always looked forward to seeing and speaking with. Always polite never condesending and a pleasure to do a deal with . My prayer's to his family and children.

OMG. Doug and I had our differences but I did actually like him. This is so unbelievably sad and horrible news.

My deepest deepest condolences to Doug's family and his many friends.

Here is what happened:

A 43-year-old Monroe County man died this morning after his pick-up veered off the road and overturned, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Douglas Baltrip, 43, of Maybee was alone driving a 2005 Ford F-250 pick-up north on Steffas Road north of Heiss in Exeter Township when he went off the west side of the road at 2:50 a.m. , according to the sheriff’s office. The truck struck a culvert and overturned one time before coming to rest its roof in a farm field. Baltrip, who was wearing a seatbelt and was the only person in the truck, was pronounced dead at the scene.

I am in shock, such terrible news.

Just heard the news, very sad, the brother I never had. Honest to a fault

Say a prayer or positive thoughts for his family and kids

Cliffy,

Cyrex texted me this am and I could not believe it. Ten called Bill Grassley and he confirmed me the story. He had a car accident yesterday evening and this morning he passed away.
In the past month Doug and I were talking quite often and I miss him terribly.
A true friend, besides the dozens and dozens of cue deals we did he was honest, humble, friendly and once you got know him he was one of those specials guys you will never forget. I am writing these words while crying... We got together in a few occasions and we used to talk almost everyday. Actually he was really excited about what I was doing and he even posted on my thread.
It is some news that is shocking everybody. Just got off the phone with Jack Justis and it's like waking from a nightmare that never ends.
Rest in peace my friend!

Rest in Peace my friend!

My prayers go out to your wife, family and friends!

This is such a loss to all of us who knew him!

Godspeed to all!

I've talked to him via AZ a few times but met him face to face for the first time in Chicago at the cue show a couple weeks ago. Very nice guy for sure.
My condolences to all his family and friends

I am floored.

I didn't know Doug @ all, but his character seems to have preceded his reputation.

His profile picture I guess said it all.

RIP, Doug. My prayers and condolences go out to the Baltrip family.

I talked to Doug on the phone about a case and he was very helpful and seemed like a very nice guy. This is horrible news. RIP and my condolences to the family.
