Rip-off Report on Glen, The Real King Cobra "UPDATE"

I have to laugh a little at folks on here and say;

I worked with Glen and everything was great...

So imagine, if you had a doctor that delivered 100 babies and 98 he did a good job, and a couple of them they did not survive.

Do you think the 98 that "success" make any difference to the 2 that did not?

We would expect 100 out of the 100.

People coming on here talking about the 98 appear pretty stupid to me.

Ken
And what's your skin in this game?

So let me get this straight...

I'm not allowed to have an opinion about a public topic in a public forum?

My "skin" is simple to understand for most. DO WHAT YOU SAY YOU'RE GOING TO DO! nothing more, nothing less. However I would like to know what YOUR skin in this game is? What could you possibly get out of defending this kind of behavior? Oh wait...I get it. Must be hoping to get some work done.

And what's your skin in this game?

Show me where I have defended this kind of behavior.

I simply posted my experience with Glen and Diamond.

Tell me... exactly what is your experience with either.

I think it's pretty dumb that folks are chiming in with "I don't know the details so I wont speculate" when all it takes is a little digging to find out. In the original thread Glenn didn't even deny the details that the OP put forth. basically he just said "it didn't turn out like I'd hoped" and "I was doing him a favor". He even went so far as to say that he would be returning the rails "untouched" ( which set off another fire storm about why they had received no attention in the time he had them). Why would you care to "balance out the ledger" when it's clear that once again Glenn did not do what he said he would do. PERIOD!

Has Glen chimed in here yet? I would be willing to bet there's more involved. Almost always on threads like this there is more than meets the eye.

Usually a guy is spouting off, ends up looking like a fool. He looks an even bigger fool, when he has no dog in the race, and yaps real loud...

Yeah, I agree.

man you guy's really put me in my place... You're right, I'm wrong, Glenn is great, the OP is a liar.

is that better?

Glen's lack of reply is wrecking the guys who took the over on 200 posts.
He may have gotten a bribe from the ones who took the under.

Maybe he saw it and immediately logged out of AZ saying "oh crap! I forgot! I have work to do!"

Duh -

Its what I posted.

It is pretty obvious that the OP did and continues to get screwed over.

Coming on posting something that happened somewhere else at a different time has no affect.

I don't know Glen, and I don't know the OP. I feel sorry for the poster, especially when people want to defend Glen, that IMO and I feel almost anyone that has any common sense would agree that, is indefensible.

Again, in my example, posted earlier, what difference does it make about the other 98, if someone doesn't deliver the other 2?

Talk about the 2, that's the issue.

Geez some people.

I wasn't trying to put you or anyone in there place. Simply stating my experience with threads like this. I've been around Glen, seen his work in person, and spoke with him several times. I'm simply stating that I will wait to hear, what Glen has to say here, or via PM, email, etc before I spout off. I hope Glen isn't doing this on purpose, but I don't know, so I'm not speaking on the matter. I will however speak to the matter that I DO know about, which is, I would let Glen work on my stuff, ANYTIME regardless of his fault here...

My guess is the op did file a lawsuit, and that's why he and Glenn are not posting on the matter. In an attempt to sound educated, you shouldn't comment on matters of current litigation

I get what you're saying

and I know that Glenn is an exceptional mechanic and we'd all be lucky to have someone with his qualifications work on our tables. I just can't understand why this hasn't been taken care of. After round 1 of this craziness it appeared that regardless of Glenn's expertise, he did not meet the OP's expectations on the rail job (implied or otherwise) and that he would return the guys stuff "untouched" post hast. Fine, good, ship it! But even after all that the guy still doesn't at have his stuff back? I know it's not my table and I know neither of the guys involved. But right is right. It would have been so easy to just send the guy his stuff. strange behavior indeed.

As Ken alluded too, what set me off was the folks coming on here and saying what a great job he did for them back in '72 or whatever like that has some bearing on this issue.

no hard feelings..

Poor RKC

He's got nothing to say at this point. I wouldn't doubt Diamond told him to zip it here. He certainly made himself look very bad in the original thread.

Good luck with the lawsuit, it will be a slam dunk. When it's settled just let us know, since it will be public record at that point.

Is there a story behind this somewhere?

Diamond is a small company and makes all the mistakes that come with that. I have been frustrated on some deals but in my experience they always try to make it right. Saying they fail at integrity is a pretty strong statement.

Of course there's a story behind it. I'm not just out to slander Diamond. I stand by my feelings about that company. Customer service is extremely, unacceptably poor. If that translates to lack of integrity then so be it. I didn't choose that word.

JC

Edit: Since Diamond is a small company it's possible of course that they could learn from their mistakes and improve. The fact they still roll with The Real King Cobra makes me skeptical about that though.

I was hoping all the bickering about Diamond vs Gold Crown would inflate the total, the over isn't looking too good. :embarrassed2:

Some of those deals were for me personally.

Now I understand, completely, your side of things ;)

But I actually said I thought Diamond had a good product. So I did not bash them. I have no reason too.

Though 90% of Brunswick customers could care less if a pro wore a patch or Brunswick sponsored pro tournaments. They just want a pool table. If the men's pro tour was a professionally run organization with a real "tour", I am sure larger companies (larger than even Brunswick) would be more apt to put more into it. But there has to be a payoff/attractiveness to doing so for any "smart" business, and if Brunswick was not getting that with the women's pro tour, why would they invest more?

Yeah, like I said in the last thread on this same issue... Walks like a duck, talks like a duck, hey... It is a duck

You can fall short of someone's expectations, you can make a mistake, but to blatantly screw someone over like this speaks volumes about a person.

Maybe the OP didn't have a place for RKC to stay for free or a way to feed him while he "perfected" his table.

It's not hard to get them to show up when your wallet's opening. Wait until they owe you something they promised and you already paid for. That's when you can measure the integrity of a company and Diamond is a fail.

JC

My experience mirrors this.

Keeping a promised deadline does not appear to be their forte. That can be extremely frustrating after paying them thousands of dollars up front.
