Thanks for post that Michael.

Yes he was a good member here and I do remember him mixing it up at times. RIP. I can't believe it has been so long since he was on here. Sometimes I get members confused.

Like you guys, I've wondered why he stopped posting. Missed him in npr for a while.
Later days Sam. I always liked that avatar.

I just became aware that poolplayer passed away a few years ago.
He was pretty prolific posting in both the Main and NPR forums.

The information came via Blah Blah.

Great thread- thanks for bringing it back, Sev.

I'm pretty sure poolplayer2093 was mostly messing around for humor value.

I ran into a mutual friend of his and mine a year or two ago and was told that sadly poolplayer2093 passed away. His name was Sam, and he was a Marine from Stockton, CA. We traded a couple of pool cues back and forth and would usually meet at Hard Times in Sac or at Gil's in Elk Grove (now closed). The friend said Sam moved to Fresno or Bakersfield and got in the wrong crowd and died. He must have been only in his 30s.

Very sad.

I really enjoyed the banter back and forth with him. He was a guy that could start trouble in a thread with just one post.
He could take a ball busting and give it right back.

I had often wondered what had happened to him and assumed he had just got tired and moved on from AZB to other endeavors.

Sadly he has moved on from this world at a far to young of an age.

Hopefully he is enjoying some good table time in that big billiards hall in the sky.

RIP Sam. You are still in our thoughts.
I recently got back into pool and have been thinking about Sam a lot. He taught me how to play when I was stationed with him in San Diego. I know I'm late but I'm sad about this passing and upset I can't share the love of the game with him anymore.

Never too late to remind all of a friend. Thanks for posting and reviving this thread.

Thanks for sharing Joe.
I often think of him and our discussion on the NPR side of the site.
He had a lot of spirit.

Think Sam left Marines with some problems, I PMed him couple times,he had dreams of 20+ year career.

Tried to go back in, but could not, for some reason.

Can someone please post a pic of him? Thank you.

i remember him now, he was very cool. We used to talk on the phone sometimes. He finished high school right when I left Stockton. I had no idea until just now he was gone🥲.
Rip🙏🏼

I just looked in my phone-I still have his number. Wow……life is fragile.

It truly is... I have numbers, conversations, and voicemails from friends who have passed on still saved on my phone that I can't bear to delete myself.
