***Robb Saez Needs Sponsers***

Not getting in the middle of this, but the money that was raised for me was strictly for the US Open. I was already in Texas and NO money went towards that particular tournament.

Just to clarify :)

I don't think its all about the way Rob has acted in the past, I think its also the fact that AZers seem to enjoy supporting people who are regulars on this forum. Not people who only come on here when they have something to sell or want to get into the pockets of people somehow.

I know Rob and I have never had a problem with him and he has been nothing but polite and nice whenever I have seen him or hung out with him. Therefore I like to take people as I find them.

All I am saying here is there is obviously some people that have had bad experiences with him and also some who just want to support the regulars here on AZB. I am one of those people by the way. I don't agree with people only coming on here when they want something. AZers are kinda tight knit sometimes. JMO

Your response is most accurate. I have told Robb he should get on here and speak for himself. He says he will work on that soon. I think he is going to New Orleans soon. Playing the doubles competition with Shawn Putnam I beleive and in the open most likely. And even if Robb does get on here it may take a while before some people except him for the person he is now and not in the past. People do get second chances all the time.

It's a no brainer for Trig and Ashley to get support here. They deserve it very much.

I have never had problem at all with Robb and have known him a long time being from the northeast area. He lives in Florida now and I dont see him as much as I used to. But we have reconnected on facebook recently.
I hope he does well in any events he can makke it to.
TY Bfdlad for your input.

Didn't know there was a tournament in Texas -

And Ashley, just to clarify - I am happy you got your support, really nothing to do with you as I showed Mary Rakin and that was just from quick memory..... but just am wondering why Robb Saez was so quick to be damned.

Just curious how the AZ mindset works.

Not true - Please see below the FIRST post below from Mary Rakin. She got her money from her first post. And she is not the first person nor the last to come on AZ and do so.

And I met Robb Saez in Vega$ two years ago and those who know me or read what I type - I am more critical of people than just about anyone. I talked to Robb for about a half an hour and he was intelligent and had a great view of how things are. He wasn't a phoney, which I liked and respected.

Also, on the point of attacking Robb's character or attitude. Someone offer $100 for every 'pro' that I can name that has a sponsor that has character issues, some much more severe that what people say about Robb and I'll have $2000 raised for him by the end of the day.

That would be tourneys.
Watchez, I am sure there have been a few that have gotten a good response from requests but I see more people be negative toward first time posters that be positive. I think the case you brought up about Mary Rakin was a bad choice for you to pick. This is a JUNIOR Champion. Most of us like kids and want to see the younger end get into the game and try to keep it alive. People are always gonna give a Junior more help than they would if Mary was 37yrs old. Again just my opinion.

Also just to remind you I said I don't have a problem with Rob at all. In my first post I was making an observation of what I have seen in the past and a educated guess as to why Rob isn't getting the same support as HOH and Trig.

Ok Justin Bergman has more titles (Junior or otherwise) than Mary Rakin can put on her shelf -

I'll get him out of retirement if you can quickly raise $3K for him to go to some tournaments. We will start our tournament campaign in Mobile.

Do you know what the strongest thing in the world is?

Robb is a great player, and an even greater freind. He has persevered through many difficult personal hardships, and played through it all at an extremely high level. The Robb Saez I know has a heart as big as his game. Around me, he's always been cool.

Of course he gets his adrenaline going during competition - everybody does. Robb wants to win. He gets pumped up, and I'm sure that sometimes he can be abrasive... but... you can never say he's not giving 110% towards winning. He ain't showing up and screwing his cue together to go out there and and be a white, fluffy bunny rabbit. He's there to breathe fire and he does it at 110%. No names, but I know people that are sponsored that don't even give 70%. IMO, the fire in Robb's eyes and in his gut is worth its weight in gold to any sponsor.

Pu#$y??

Eric >whipped

That didn't take long - and I shouldn't be surprised that it took one of our intelligent posters to get it right.

bfdlad - what is your excuse for not knowing :)

Eric - Hope all is well my friend.

cmon watchez, Bergnutz can raise 500 in heartbeat to go to an event. he doesnt have to ask AZ for the dough. Your right, Justin is a way better player than Mary, but she came on her, asked nicely and people helped her. I met her at that US Amateur tourny and she got top 3 as I remember. Honestly I thought she had the nuts to win the tournament too. AZ also is mostly populated by guys and while its sexist to say this, but guys are suckers for a pretty girl and for that matter any girl that shoots damn good pool.

I also think if people want support on AZ they at the least be willing to come on here and do it themselves. This going through third parties thing is lame. Especially when he gives an email at the end which tells me he is online. Its not exactly rocket science to get into AZ Forums.

Sam... No kidding! He could actually break down and...(horrors) GET A JOB! :D Some responsible professional poolplayers have actually done that...as a last resort, of course (tongue-in-cheek...my hat is off to pros who work full or part-time, and can still compete)!

he doesn't need sponsors he needs cash. just like everyone else in the country right now.

after the way I saw him act while gambling at the derby last year, I say good luck to him.

Ian

He played an old friend of mine at the us open last year. Rob was cool , but his "Crew" was doing some sharking:angry:

Watchez, I have no excuse for not knowing. Maybe I am not one of the smart posters on here I guess, either that or I thought you were going to come up with something that was going to blow my mind. Obviously Watchez your good looks are only surpassed by your intellegence.

It really sucks being a dumbass poster but I will keep trying I promise and hopefully one day someone will ask me that question again and I will know the answer. See I live and learn everyday. What was the last thing you learned watchez? is there anything left for you to learn? I know I am streching it but maybe there is something. I love to learn. :)

Pu$$y! You asked!:D

I don't ever remember my father telling me that work was an option. Let me get this straight....a great pool player that doesn't work-wants people that choose to work-finance his dream(addiction).....I'll pass...

Just to clarify on HoH. Ashley was in TX (she no longer lives in TX) in order to go to Tulsa, OK to go to the OB Cues Tour Stop there. She was not sponsored by AZ to go there and had her own means to get there. She was then sponsored by members of AZ to go to the US Open in OK. I'm guessing that this sponsorship was made possible because people know her here on AZ and wanted to sponsor her to make her dream possible. That dream was to play in her first Pro event. Her invite was received more or less by surprise and wasn't something she would have planned for and thus funds were raised to help her achieve this dream.

Robb Saez's case is not very similar. He is basically looking for sponsors for all of his events. I think the response would be very different if say Robb got a last minute invitation to be on the Mosconi Cup team or something he's never been a part of. If that were the case, I'm sure many of us would be glad to sponsor him. I also think the response would have been different if HoH were asking for sponsors to all of the events she wants to go to.

The situations are different, so the responses are different. I'm sure there are other factors as well, but I think it's hard to compare the two situations since they are like apples and oranges.

Samiel- Did I just compare Robb's request to only the Ashley recent sponsorship? Did you read the entire thread?

I know DRW didn't read the entire thread cause he answered to something that was responded to 3 times already.

bfdlad - my post to you was a joke. Notice the smiley face. My suggestion to you is if you are using AZ to give your opinions and also respresent an organization/company, you should act accordingly. And I didn't call you unintelligent - I called Eric intelligent. If you transferred that you something else, that is your issue. Oh, and sorry I am not pretty enough for you and my looks don't meet up to your preference or expectation.
