Romanian player in town looking for action

good luck Celtic

part of the action downfall imo over the past 15-20 years is the complete lack of spots by the so called "action" players

they won't give it up and expect rank amateurs to play em as even as possible, yes it goes both ways for sure, but at the moment the fault lies with the better players who gamble

For many players I think that would be true but despite the back and forth in this thread I do actually respect Chris as one of the few pros who will actually "gamble".

I would actually like to get into a decent length set of 8-ball against Chris if we can figure out a proper spot.

I do not really keep up with all the young players. I love action pool and have played off and on for various reasons since 1963. Yeah, not a miss print.

Before this thread ventures off, I want to say; Chris, congratulations and good luck in general. It is because of guys like you, with the approach to the game that you have, that drew me to the game. Guys like Keith, "Giving the world the 8"....driving the action, making the game exciting. I took the time to find a video of you playing a match on the internet and in one word, STRONG.

I look forward to following you.

All the best,
Phil

I am ok playing you if we can figure out a fair spot to make it be gambling for both of us.

You are a top 100 player in the world, I am probably close to about the top 1,000,000 mark at this point.

If you are cool playing 8-ball instead of rotation pool that would be good. As a terrible amateur former league player and all those fancy shmancy pro rotation games just confuse my simple and un-evolved pool playing mind.

I am OK if we split the difference and play 8-ball on a 9-foot, or the 10-foot if they have it there this year.

My name is Shane Lyons.

It is fairly pitiful I know, I expect I would need a huge spot from someone who has committed their life to the sport of pool.

What do you think is fair for someone of your talents in 8-ball as far as a spot goes against such a clear rank amateur such as myself?

I would actually seriously be interested in a fair match with you, win or lose I think it could be a fun experience. We just have to figure out what line would make it gambling.

So you tell the guy for days how bad he is and has no clue where he is in the pecking order of pool, portray yourself as an authority, get offered the last 5 from a guy you consider a 2nd or 3rd tier pro, then back pedal with your own admission of how bad you suck and are a rank amateur. Thanks for displaying to the world that you don't know shit. Watch some more streams, read some more articles and pick up some more names to drop, you jack....

He offered you the last 5 and has never seen you hit a ball..... And you try to switch it to 8 ball because rotation pool isn't your game? Seriously? And you are going to rank 300 rotation players better than the guy who just offered someone he has never seen hit a ball the last 5?

To quote a smart man, "You suck, and you play bad pool too!".

So you tell the guy for days how bad he is....

That is where the disconnect is. Being in the top 300 in 10-ball in the entire world is NOT "bad" in the slightest, it takes a hugely powerful game to be at that level and ranking. It was NEVER meant to be a cut against Chris's game and it was taken entirely wrong and this thread instantly went sideways from there. I have since then said numerous times that I "do" think Chris is a "great" player and that I respect his game but people like you are making sure to keep posting and fanning the flames to keep the thing going.

Maybe I am wrong and Chris is in the top 100 and is better then I expect him to be. If so then I am wrong, but either way there was no disrespect intended and what I said was not something to take great offense to, there are a huge number of extremely good professional pool players out there, being the top 300 in the world (whether Chris is there or even better) is not a slight as people here have taken it.

There are at leased 9 players in the top 40 list of money won, that I think Bartram can play even 9 ball or 10 ball.

Charlie Williams

I believe Bartram could beat any of these names, as I would bet on Chris against any of these top 40 money earners.
Iam not saying that Bartram is better then any of these names, but iam saying that He plays good enough to gamble against any one of them ( I believe), and many more on that list as you go down it!

I do believe there are over a 1000 great pool players in the world, probably more.
Look at the US OPEN, every year I see atlease 2-5 names I never heard of and some of those guys go far in the tournament.

And those players from different countries that we still are not sure how good they are, and these players are not spending thousands of dollars to play in the open, just to say that they played in the OPEN, they are coming here because they think they play good enough to win it!

If you're top 100-150 at something and someone repeatedly says there are 300 people better and you don't take offense to it, there probably are 300 people better. But if you're a gamer and take pride in what you've accomplished you're going to take offense to it..... And if you're Chris you're going to ask to play the whole 300. That's the kind of guy Chris is, he seriously would play the whole team of 300 people, and bet high doing it. He may go bust, he may bust the team, but that's what he does.
