Ronnie Alcano vs. Jayson Shaw @ Sandcastle Billiards -Edison, NJ

Ten Footer

Wonder who's been practicing up for this and where? With all the reasons given as to who will win, it could easily be the table....

Can anyone tell me the time difference to Europe as I a scot & will be cheering on if the stream isn't too late for me.

Really nice to see the 10-foot in action again. The pros defintely don't have these things dialed in yet, they get lazy and they miss.

I think Alex P is most likely the best player on the planet on these things atm.

Alcano wins the best 2 out of 3 sets on that gorgeous 10' Diamond at Sandcastles.

10 - 9

10 - 5

The Accu-Stats stream was amazing! And excellent commentary too! The 5 break possession worked well IMO. Pretty dam clever thinking. I wonder what the % of games won to the breaker was for each.

Great work! Great sportsmanship!

Congrats Ronnie! And hats off to Jayson as well!

(I think Jayson could re-watch this, if available to re-watch, and see a couple things. Stated with much respect.)

Looking forward to next month's match at Sandcastles. :)

Ed,

I really liked the format, with 5 breaks a piece. I think this has some potential.

Just a couple of passing comments:

I feel you should use the telestrator more. Without instant replay, you can substitute with a couple of quick drawings.

The commentary can use a lil more structure. Having more defined roles makes it more fluid.

Adding a timeframe to the match may help i.e. football games.

Overall, i liked it. As always, Pat Fleming and the Accu Stat crew were awesome.

I'll catch up with ya more, next time i'm there.

YES, it was a great show !

AND the chatroom crowd was well behaved and enjoyed it very much.

TYVM for being that way. The hundreds of other guests could be impressed with a crowd as such and would have to say "these pool fans are a good bunch".

You never know who is watching ! So thank you again.

My thoughts on the match ?

Now I did not see many break and runs on this monster of a table (10ft).
Which actually made the match very entertaining as shooting and safety battles ensued all night. This table is the real deal, the real test !
So the break didn't really mean as much as you would think it would.

I was gonna say it is so important to win the lag and get the first 5 breaks maybe the lag should be 2 out of 3 !!!

But Ronny won despite breaking 15 times to Jayson's 19 !!!!

Go figure ?

Easy, 10 ball a different breaking game, even on a 9fter IMO.

Heck Pat Fleming does think the break is very important even in 9-ball.

So imagine how he feels about this. He would win the lag and pass on the break, lol !

Thanks Sandman, see you next time !

I watched this match last night and after about a half hour I thought, jeez these guys must be short cause they can't reach some of the shots. Took me a little wihle to figure out it was on a ten foot table, LOL!! Great stream and a very entertaining match..

The winner of the $1,000.00 Action Challenge Match

Ronnie "Volcano" Alcano wins the match.
Fist set 10-9 and second set 10-5. It was an incredible hill-hill first set with lots of great shots and safety play on BOTH players' parts. The match is available on Sandcastle's Ustream channel. Thanks to all who were able to attend in person and view online!
