Neil,
Posters don't have to agree 100% of the time. It would be a boring place if everyone agreed on everything. I'm flattered that you agree with me 99% of the time. I like many of your posts as well.
Do you agree with me that the GingerBread Man is almost as fast as Usain Bolt? :yeah: :grin-devilish:
This particular saga became public forum news available for discussion because another forum member shared it with us. Once a subject is on the forum, it is up for discussion until it dies a natural death and members deem it no longer a subject or interest or if the thread becomes too surly for the forum's sake. This thread has been remarkable as I think it has been a good discussion and people on both sides of the fence have made some very good points without making complete azzes of themselves. This subject is a good subject that should be kept alive and discussed so that forum members and the pool community can continue to live in harmony.
A valued member of the pool community has been accused of not paying his debts in full and on time. Now his reputation has the chance to be preserved and there is only one way that will happen and that is for Shawn to be paid what he is owed. Shawn has admitted that he jumped the gun and now Ronnie has the opportunity to correct the problem.
The bottom line is that this issue will be solved when the $3900 is in Shawn's hands. Until that time, I would bet a dollar to a doughnut that this will be a subject of discussion for a long time. As I've mentioned before, I'm not a friend of Shawn's or Ronnie's but I would like to see both people get what they deserve. Shawn & Ronnie are good for the pool community and I hope all ends well.
Ronnie Wiseman deserves his good name preserved and Shawn deserves his $3900 to be promptly paid in full.

i, kind of like neil, have agreed with you always in the past. but here, i have difficulty, really.
i always take a man at his word. for me, and i think for you that is the same, but maybe i am wrong, although i don't think so.
this started on Aug. 13th. Jam posted for ronnie on Aug. 14th (post 82) that, quote:
As most know, there's usually three sides to a story.
Here's one side, straight from Ronnie Wiseman's mouth. Ronnie asked me to post, as he happens to be at the Turning Stone event right now as I write this.
Ronnie Wiseman agrees that he does, in fact, owe one game to the gentleman he played, which is 500 bucks.
However, Scott Frost was the one betting the coin going around the table, and Scott Frost is responsible for the coin games, which was the side action.
Ronnie did not know that Scott Frost had no money and would not pay the gentleman for the side action. Scott is responsible for the coin/side action.
Scott owes 3,400 beans for side action, using the coin moving around the table. Scott left without paying his end, which was ALL SIDE ACTION.
Ronnie Wiseman owes 500 beans for the last game that Ronnie lost, which Ronnie agrees with.
I heard through the grapevine that "Scott is going to try to make this right. He is just a little slow on the draw when it comes to that money."
Please don't kill the messenger, as I am only relaying Ronnie's side of the story.

unquote.
sounds to me a lot different, supposedly "coming from the horses mouth", than what we heard from later posts even from Shawn!
and certainly i must mention this: ronnies "WORD" that the next day Shawn Would Be Paid! how can anyone justify that, considering that he did not get paid (anything) on the 14th?
so to me, no matter what happens now, ronnies "word" is meaningless.
further, i commend Shawn for his post. and i would trust his word! and most of all i will tell you this; if we (Shawn and me that is) ever played (and i am just a banger, but) if he told me he would pay me tomorrow i would trust Shawn's word. i could read it in his sincerity.
but i will also say this, if Shawn gets ALL $3,900 by wednesday, aug 27th, i will amend this post.
sorry if i am a hard, but to me a man without honor is not a man to me.
none the less my friend, i still greatly admire you and will "never forget": POW-MIA,
smokey
