Ronnie Wiseman stiff's me for $3900

I know where you are coming from Joey. I would definitely hold Ronnie Wiseman in much higher regards if he pays Shawn. However, that does not exempt him from the fact that he stiffed him to begin with. Honestly, his defenders can say, "See we knew he would pay." But it certainly doesn't hold up in an argument that he didn't do it or won't do it again.

I can hardly wait for his defender to say, "See, we knew he would pay."
The only thing that matters is that Ronnie pays the full $3900 and does it promptly.

We'll see if he is truly a man of his word.

FTR, I understand fully that there was some miscommunication "originally" but now everything is clear and Ronnie has agreed to pay.

All I want to know is "WHEN IS RONNIE GOING TO PAY THE FULL $3900?"

Joey, you and I agree 99% of the time, and I consider you one of the people that I would like to meet someday. But, on this one, we disagree. Shawn and Ronnie have it worked out between themselves, and that is all that should matter to anyone on here. The rest is actually none of our business. Not that any of it was to start with.

Cues stolen, posters not paying, bad cue deals, that is our business on here because it started on this forum, and needs to be cleared up here. What happened here, as some think happened, happens in pool rooms all across the nation every day. As far as we should be concerned, this case is settled. JMHO

This case is settled, or going to be, because Shawn started this thread, and the posters on here kept it alive long enough for Ronnie to call Shawn and work out an agreement.

Wrong of Shawn to bash the posters on AZB for helping him get his money. JMHO

Neil,
Posters don't have to agree 100% of the time. It would be a boring place if everyone agreed on everything. I'm flattered that you agree with me 99% of the time. I like many of your posts as well.

Do you agree with me that the GingerBread Man is almost as fast as Usain Bolt? :yeah: :grin-devilish:

This particular saga became public forum news available for discussion because another forum member shared it with us. Once a subject is on the forum, it is up for discussion until it dies a natural death and members deem it no longer a subject or interest or if the thread becomes too surly for the forum's sake. This thread has been remarkable as I think it has been a good discussion and people on both sides of the fence have made some very good points without making complete azzes of themselves. This subject is a good subject that should be kept alive and discussed so that forum members and the pool community can continue to live in harmony.

A valued member of the pool community has been accused of not paying his debts in full and on time. Now his reputation has the chance to be preserved and there is only one way that will happen and that is for Shawn to be paid what he is owed. Shawn has admitted that he jumped the gun and now Ronnie has the opportunity to correct the problem.

The bottom line is that this issue will be solved when the $3900 is in Shawn's hands. Until that time, I would bet a dollar to a doughnut that this will be a subject of discussion for a long time. As I've mentioned before, I'm not a friend of Shawn's or Ronnie's but I would like to see both people get what they deserve. Shawn & Ronnie are good for the pool community and I hope all ends well.

Ronnie Wiseman deserves his good name preserved and Shawn deserves his $3900 to be promptly paid in full.

The reason that it is our business is we are pool players who gamble on pool games mister. We need to know who to refrain from gambling with.

Post it, and you won't have a problem. (usually. Some have been known to steal the post money.)

Even if a guy who stiffs people is willing to post I would want to know that he had stiffed someone and he would get no action from me.

Fellow azers keep reporting bad action of any kind please.

Well this is beginning to look like there was no bad action, just some miscommunication, so we can only hope that Ronnie maintains his integrity by paying the $3900 soon.

I like the way AZBers look out for one another. It is truly a unique family and I'm glad to call you all, my brothers and sisters. :canoodle:

i, kind of like neil, have agreed with you always in the past. but here, i have difficulty, really.

i always take a man at his word. for me, and i think for you that is the same, but maybe i am wrong, although i don't think so.

this started on Aug. 13th. Jam posted for ronnie on Aug. 14th (post 82) that, quote:

As most know, there's usually three sides to a story.

Here's one side, straight from Ronnie Wiseman's mouth. Ronnie asked me to post, as he happens to be at the Turning Stone event right now as I write this.

Ronnie Wiseman agrees that he does, in fact, owe one game to the gentleman he played, which is 500 bucks.

However, Scott Frost was the one betting the coin going around the table, and Scott Frost is responsible for the coin games, which was the side action.

Ronnie did not know that Scott Frost had no money and would not pay the gentleman for the side action. Scott is responsible for the coin/side action.

Scott owes 3,400 beans for side action, using the coin moving around the table. Scott left without paying his end, which was ALL SIDE ACTION.

Ronnie Wiseman owes 500 beans for the last game that Ronnie lost, which Ronnie agrees with.

I heard through the grapevine that "Scott is going to try to make this right. He is just a little slow on the draw when it comes to that money."

Please don't kill the messenger, as I am only relaying Ronnie's side of the story.

JAM
unquote.

sounds to me a lot different, supposedly "coming from the horses mouth", than what we heard from later posts even from Shawn!

and certainly i must mention this: ronnies "WORD" that the next day Shawn Would Be Paid! how can anyone justify that, considering that he did not get paid (anything) on the 14th?

so to me, no matter what happens now, ronnies "word" is meaningless.

further, i commend Shawn for his post. and i would trust his word! and most of all i will tell you this; if we (Shawn and me that is) ever played (and i am just a banger, but) if he told me he would pay me tomorrow i would trust Shawn's word. i could read it in his sincerity.

but i will also say this, if Shawn gets ALL $3,900 by wednesday, aug 27th, i will amend this post.

sorry if i am a hard, but to me a man without honor is not a man to me.

none the less my friend, i still greatly admire you and will "never forget": POW-MIA,

Thanks for the kind words, Smokey.

I am pulling for Ronnie Wiseman to stick to his words to pay Shawn $3900.00 in full and promptly.

I heard through the grapevine that wiseman was playing for cash this past week at the canadian championships..... wonder if he paid then.

just checking...

it's been a long time, and no new word...

has this issue been resolved properly?

I was wondering the same thing.

It has been quite some time since the promised resolution was posted.

I'm guessing that this will never be mentioned on AZ again by any of the involved parties. Especially after the suspect retraction.;)

Shawn was in action last night in Jackson, but I didn't think to ask about this when I saw him. I've known Shawn for a lot of years, and although we aren't close, he is truly someone who's word you can trust. He matches up really well, but he isn't afraid to put it on the light, and YOU WILL GET PAID. I always enjoy sweating his matches, because it's going to be good, no matter what.

It's called the search feature. Shawn posted an apology: POST

This thread should be closed or deleted to protect the parties involved and ensure that people who are too lazy/ignorant to read the original retraction don't keep bumping it.

Thanks for posting that link. According to the link, Ronnie Wiseman was going to make sure that Shawn got paid the remaining balance of the $3900 owed.

Since this has been bandied about in public on this forum for so long, we all would like to see closure and that means, Shawn D getting paid the remaining balance of the $3900.00.

Do you know if Ronnie has gotten Shawn the remaining money owed?

After the apology post that you linked to, Shawn came back yet again after that and basically said that he only made that post because it was part of the conditions set by Ronnie that he had to retract his original statements if he wanted to get paid. He then went on to say that Ronnie only paid him a portion of what he owed and then things had stalled again with no end in sight and poor communication, and he reaffirmed that he had told the truth the first time around about what had happened. I think that is why people are wanting an update, to see what else, if anything, Ronnie has paid on his debt.
