A longtime good friend and one of the toughest road players Bob "Big Bob' Ogburn passed away today in a hospital in Brunswick, GA.

Bob played High $ action all his life, and mostly bet his own Cheese.

R.I.P. Buddy! See you when I see you.

I’m sorry Billy, my condolences to you, and his family🙏

Sorry to hear about Bob. He amazed me years ago with his ability to win and his graceful stroke. I got the chance to see him play a few times in Florida.

RIP Black Bart.

Keith McCready spoke to Bob almost every day before he passed. He was in a small-town hospital when they diagnosed him with leukemia. Keith said he was in pain, but thank goodness, a good friend of his, Jay Wideman, had him moved to a hospice where he received meds to make his last hours on earth comfortable.

I met Bob at a pool room down South. He and Grady Mathews were fast friends and good buddies, but they did lock horns a few times, on and off the table. That's what was so fun about the two of them. One minute, they're almost in fisticuffs about a one-pocket match, and the next, they're hosting one-pocket tournaments together. The one in Naples, Florida, subject to check, was heralded as one of the best.

Bob is one of pool's unsung heroes. He managed to travel under the radar, even after the advent of digital technology, and engage in games of stake. Like Grady, Bob had no fear and would step up to the plate with anyone on the planet.

It is sad to lose one of our own in the pool world, but Bob was special to all who knew him. He will be missed but never forgotten. Save me a seat on the rail in heaven, Bob. Rest in peace.

Photo of Geese (Michael Gerace) and Bob Ogburn. I love this pic because they are both smiling. I'm sure Geese, Grady, and Bob are enjoying a game of Captains in heaven.

^^^^^ Great pictures Jam , that's something that even I'm very guilty of is not taking more pictures or getting a picture taken .
It's fun to go looking through the pictures and remember the day / night and what was going on because as a cousin of mine said to me a my mom's funeral we're now the oldtimers ha ha

Sorry I don't want to derail this thread .

Shit Bill, I just saw this. 😞

Sent it to Enzo and a few guys from the Rack.

Just got off the phone with Enzo from the Rack in Detroit. He was good friends with Bob and Harley both.

He took this news hard and sends his condolences to family and friends.

He’s always had good things to say about Bob and even better stories. I know Bob was always good at getting the money.

Bob, always held his own if not won a good share of the time in the 'Ring Pay Ball' games.

Most of the time He bet his own $, even for the Big$.

Bob was like a second dad to me in my teens. I haven’t seen him in many years but he played a very important role in my life. I’d really appreciate any service details as I will do my best to go. Please and thank you in advance to anyone with any information.

RIP Bob
A lot of us are becoming short timers, I used to think I would live forever, 75 seemed like an eternity. I moved to Phoenix for a couple of years when I was 60, it seems like maybe a year or two ago, it was 15.
