San diego classics

The difference here will be the break. In the Worlds it was the break. Kelly lost to Pan and Jasmin because her break wasn't on and theirs was.

Jasmin actually made a PERFECT break at 6:6 against Kelly. She pocketed 5 balls and had four hangers left to take the match after being down.

Later in the tourament Kelly also had a five ball break.

Pan broke like a machine against Kelly and it was like she was playing six ball while Kelly came up dry twice and scratched once.

Kelly is the better player between her and Jasmin. But Jasmin has the better (more consistent) break at the moment.

And she does play like a guy. Jasmin actually reminds me more of Vivian Villareal in her style.

Come on Kel! Make it a hat trick!

Edit: I guess I was too late and Kel won with a convincing 7:0. Now that is a statement!

Yup....just talked to my friend who is there. Hard to believe Jasmin gets blanked in an alternate break format.

Ok, I believe you, but I don't like it!!! :D

I'm sorry Roy but it is true. To finish second is a truly great result in a field such as this. Jasmin should be proud of her efforts despite coming up one short.

I'd also like to say how disappointed I am in certain entries on this board recently concerning Alison Fisher. Alison is a wonderful champion and I'm sure she will be around for a long while yet. Write her off at your peril !

Take care all,

Kelly Fisher did beat Julie Kelly 7-1 in the semi-finals so maybe it shouldn't be such a big surprise that Kelly beat Jazzy 7-zip!

Yes way. When Kelly gets going she can break and run in 30 seconds and then she will suffocate you with a deadly safety in the next game and run out in less than a minute. She's brutal when it all comes together.

In the Worlds she beat four of her qualifying round opponents by the collective score of 20:1. Only Jasmin got by her with a 5:4 after Kelly was up 4:1. This was due to Jasmin's break and good play on her part. Kelly's collective score in the qualifying rounds was 25:5. She often finished matches scheduled for an hour's length in about 20 minutes causing the promoters to scramble for players to fill the void.

Remember in her very first WPBA event she had Allison down 8:1 in no time.

Kelly Fisher has the whole package. The thing is that there are a lot of women coming along who also play world class speed so she is going to find it harder to dominate like Allison and Karen did (do still). Especially with the ridiculous short set format that ESPN imposes.

Congratulations Kelly. Congratulations Lionel. Congratulations Fury Cue :-) (sorry had to throw that one in since she's won all three with the same cue.)

Good job Kel!

I am sure there would of been a line of people betting on Fisher if the line was Jasmin "Don't 1"

I wouldn't have bet it even. However if you had given me 10 to 1 I would have bet 100 because I have seen Kelly when she's really on and getting the rolls to boot.

Jasmin is streaky. She is quite capable of breaking and running many racks but she also gets out of line quite a bit. Kelly almost never gets out of line and almost always plays the right way. Jasmin seems to have to come with shots a lot to get out.

Pan plays more like Kelly. Over long sets I pick Pan and Kelly to win almost every time over Jasmin. In short sets I still favor Kelly and Pan but not as much.

Still 7:0 ouch!

Congratulations to Kelly Fisher on a great achievement. By my count, she has pulled to within 1,500 ranking points of Karen Corr and can set her sights on #2 now.

Kelly Fisher, Jasmin Ouschan, Xiaoting Pan and Ga Young Kim seem to be ushering in a new era in women's pool, and the fans are the big winners, as the talent pool in women's pool is very, very deep right now. Watching these four do battle with established superstars like Allison, Karen and Monica should be a real treat.

I think the single elimination final 16 is taking it's toll as well. Allison and Karen are finding out that there is no second chance there.

First of all congrats to Kelly.. wath an achievement 3 in a row.. wauwie! I would have expected Jasmin to win after beating Pan and its to bad she lost with a donut. Got an sms telling me that the balls were rolling bad for her...My humble idea is that she was just to tired. In any case we are very proud of you Jasmin..... coming out from the losersround in to the finals... great job.. good play...

Oh yeah and sinds the commentaters call you ocean.... instead of ouschan... we think you deserve the new nickname JO "the mermaid" ouschan...;)
