What's the 'logo' for ? Did she ask you to come up with something or is it just for fun ?

I understand the idea of why the blackbird was selected for this graphic design. But in my mind it does not connect to Sarah as a player. In any effort at logo design you want to keep the design simple while at the same time finding some means of representing a central idea that connects to the person/product/service that is being represented in the logo.
From what I know of Sarah as a player, the Blackbird just does not come to mind.
As a professional graphic & web designer I would for 1, want to know what her favorite color is. That would give me an element that would help to personalize the logo to Sarah. Im not sure what Sarah's nickname is, if she has one, but if she does, that may give an additional element that could be incorporated into the logo design effort. And I would look for a more feminine font to be used in the logo design effort.

Sarah's extremely cool and all, (as far as I know! lol) but there needs to be a second link to the metaphor besides the initials for it to stick.
In 1964 I ws TDY to Fort Greely, Alaska. It was the Articic Test Center for a lot of things. One of the things I tested were proto type tracks and trucks to see if they could take the Artic weather and if I could get them to break down. One morning just as it was getting light out I saw them testing a Blackbird at Eielson AFB. It either came out of a long ass hanger or from in back of it, but it was in the air in seconds. What a plane that was.
About 20+ years later I worked for a retired Air Force General named Doisier, he retired after the Bay of Pigs screw up. He voiced his opinion of Bobby Kennedy and was forced to retire. He told me I should never have saw that in 1964. There was a lot of top secret crap up there back then. It took me almost 3 weeks at Fort Lewis to clear out of the Army with all the clearances we had to have up there. So the Blackbird WAS at some bases in 1964. Johnnyt
Wait. Are you saying she's old and fast?
The blackbird may be old, but it's still the fastest plane "known" to the public at this time. There are rumors of a pulse jet replacement called Aurora, but there's no locked-up proof.
I like the concept, but if you design a logo it should be replicable on a shirt and letterhead--- this one can't be.
