Savannah Easton

Last months Billiards Digest had a good article by Kennedy Meyman (another top junior player) on this subject.

I am impressed at how well she handles pressure at such a young age. Also, she displays the highest level of good sportsmanship win or lose.
I have seen at least 60-70 competition games of hers and finally on like the 65th game saw her miss a nine ball when she got on the 50 yd line. She hit center pocket on 90% of them.

Agreed. The top juniors seem to be a good batch of kids (including Reinhold and Wolford who are no longer kids).

They have no fear and don't understand that missing is even an option! 😂

Well, the whole reason that we are having this conversation is that a lot of dudes on here don't think that female Fargorates are equal to male Fargorates. So, within that viewpoint, it didn't "matter" to them that he was a 30 point dog. Despite their lack of belief, the two player's relative performance was almost exactly what was predicted by Fargorate.

The chauvinist folks on here don't realize that, even IF the females mostly play against one another, that the few who DO play with the male pros from time to time, establish the set point by which all the other women are measured. Mathematically. Karen Corr plays at Turning Stone, and has a Fargorate based upon what she generally scores against the male pros she has played. When she plays against females, she has a certain mathematical performance predicted against a 500 Fargo, a 600 Fargo, and a 700 Fargo rated player. If an unrated player comes in and scores the amount against Karen expected of a 600 Fargo rate player, and their performance against other known Fargorate players in a specific tournament is consistent with that rating, then that is what they will end up with. Her performance against Corr takes all the skills into account, i.e. break strength, power strokes, critical thinking skills, etc.
I'll gamble with anyone within 30 points of me....so would Donny Mills. Guy has plenty of money and will gamble. It's nothing to so with him thinking he can beat any female. Now that he proved he's a underdog, no reason to keep trying....because that makes you the fish.

Pushing any child towards playing pool professionally borders on abuse
If the only thing in her life, I agree.

It may be economically unsound but let's not get crazy. She clearly is enjoying herself immensely.
I agree with this as well.

Let the kid play, but for God's sake also be sure she gets a good education and is exposed to interests other than pool.

Mr. Bill, Howdy;

Don't forget Mr. 'Babe' Cranfield as well as a full-time working stiff.

hank
Neptune Joe Frady from N.J. was a world class player that was not well known outside of the N.J./NYC/Philly area because he worked full time at the Earle ammunition depot unloading ships all day and would still run a 100 balls or several racks of 9 ball at night.

I haven't heard as much of her. Maybe because Savanah is younger and super fast she gets more attention.. Do you know if she has been playing longer or shorter than Savanah (even though she is older)?
Savannah is traveling the country to play every event she can. I dont think anyone plays more events than her. Sofia seems to travel some but results may be a bit better if she competed at all of the same events.

He was a great regional player but I wouldn't say World Class. He worked at Chicago Billiards for about 8-10 years later in life and Kid Delicious learned a lot from him.

She seems like a good kid. If she keeps the same level of passion for the game, her future in pool looks bright. I don't think players should create their own nicknames though.

I asked her parents about this on Facebook once when it was mentioned how much she plays. They replied that she is a straight-A student. I've been around her in person, she seems like a good kid.

She was in the booth with Allison for the finals of a recent tournament. For a 13 year old I was very much impressed. Did a great job.

I just call her Beep (from Beep Beep)-It's a better NN and maybe it will evolve into that. No one is going to say "Hey Road Runner" lol
