If we get more we get more. I mean...we already have the library booked. I'll book the whole goddam joint if I have to. LOL I figure by the time January rolls around...everyone ought to be absolutely twitchin' for the Expo to come 'round. Coming at the end of the second day of a four day event...this is going to be like the 7th inning stretch. I'm so stoked it's retarded.
LOL you sound like a good time havin' son gun. I see your in Plymouth Meeting. I grew up in Chester. What a hell hole. Texas better suites me.

Hey boss. Here's a link to the Super Billiards Expo:
http://www.superbilliardsexpo.com/

On the left hand side of the web site, you should see two links in white, one that provides local hotels, and one for location/directions. That should take care of that part.

The Radison is your best choice, as it is actually connected to the convention center...which will keep your travel from hotel to the Expo...to zero. I'm sure being from across the Atlantic, you're unfamiliar with the area as a whole. If you need assistance getting from the Expo to Sullivan's, I"m sure we can arrange something to help you out.

As far as airports are concerned...you'll want to book your flight into Philadelphia International Airport. From the airport to the Expo is roughly a 30-45 minute drive depending on traffic.

You will need a ticket/pass. I would recommend buying a pass for the entire weekend, as it is more cost effective. If you want to attend the pro event...they sell tickets for that seperately as well.
Look forward to meeting you. :-)

I don't think they will let us casually order. Groups such as this need to be organized and I'm sure they will ask us to preorder from their banquet menu. I also think they will require it to be on one bill with gratuity and tax included. At some point they are gonna ask for a solid number of guests and we will be responsible for paying on that number.
I suggest we ask for a non refundable deposit of say 25.00 per guest to ensure those who have made reservations are commited. I liked the idea of getting together with fellow AZ'rs and putting a face to an internet friend but to let others who aren't members and active posters participate could create a problem with reservations.
I own and operate a successful steakhouse and can foresee many problems with this idea. www.tillmansvillageinn.com.

EDITED: See my next post. Thanks again to Tommy for his input and advice. It's sincerely appreciated.

Ok. :-) We're all set. I spoke with Erin...and here's the skinny. We have the library reserved...no cost/deposit required. All she's asking is that we have a firm commitment on attendance...as they are, on good faith, reserving 1/4 of the restaurant for us on this date. She has been awesome in accomodating us. They are ok with us filtering in at various times. When you arrive...tell the host/hostess at the concierge/front desk that you are there for the Valley Forge Super Billiards Expo event...and you'll be brough to our area. Everyone will be seated at tables of six...and checks will be provided to each table. We have no menu restrictions. I set it up this way so that instead of being treated as one large party of 90...we'll be treated as multiple parties of 6. This way we don't have to reduce the menu. Everything's game. I AM...however...going to request a $50 deposit for all that plan to attend. When you arrive at the dinner event...this will be refunded to you. If you don't attend...it'll go to Sullivan's. Most important...if your name is not on the list of attendees...if you did not put in your deposit...you will not be seated with us. That's not to say that you can't possibly get a table elsewhere in the restaurant, or patronize the bar.

I don't anticipate this being a problem...if it is...let me know and I'll work something out with you on an individual basis. I want everyone to attend...but I also want everone to be cognizant of the effort, leeway, and lattitude being extended to us from thes folks.

Payment must be made by February 20th. My PayPal address is haydendodgemccall@gmail.com When payment has been remitted, I will mark you as "paid" on the roster in the first post of this thread. This will be cut off at 90 people max. Anyone not commited by February 20th cannot be guaranteed seating in our area.

I thank everyone in advance for their understanding as this event has evolved in such a short period of time. :-) I can't wait. I'm dyin' for a Kansas City strip, a lobster tail, mushroom caps, and a bottle of Opus One, and a glass of King Louis.

Myself and Paul Mon would like to join everyone. It sounds like a great time and I had been looking for a high end restaurant experience. See you there.

TommyT

Seeing as TommyT owes me a steak dinner, count me in.

Sounds Good

I'll know by Feb 20 if I can make it. I have a conflict in L.A., but it's just a social event (another internet forum GTG, actually.)

oh oh

The list keeps on growing....this is gonna be a blast....

When are you going to start collecting some dough for this?????
Steve

Chris Byrne, already paid. Like...5 minutes after I posted that I'd be collecting. He however, has been the only one thus far. I'm going to bump this thread periodically for exposure...so it stays fresh in the heads of those who have so far voiced their intention to attend in this thread...and so others can see it that may not have already. I'm going to be up everyone's ass for deposits starting on the first of the year, for those who haven't paid by then. I would like to have them all in by Valentine's Day, which is roughly a month prior to the dinner date. Of course...I'll accept stragglers...but I'd prefer everyone put their best foot forward to do this in a timely fashion. Organizing this event several months in advance was done for the sole purpose of making people aware of the event early on, giving them time to make room in their agenda to attend, and provide them with the opportunity to do what little is expected of them...so I can carry on my part of the deal. :-)

Because of what's involved...I'm going to be a real bastard with the timeline. If it gets down to the wire...and I can't accomodate some people...I don't want to hear any cryin'. February 14th is roughly 10 weeks away. There's going to be some incredible folk at this thing. Let's get it done gentlemen.

I've been having dreams of snifters of Johnny Walker Blue Label, Macanudo Portofinos, and medium rare Porterhouse steaks for a couple weeks now.

No problem John. You'll be there...that's what's important. You know...even if they don't attend dinner with us that evening...I would strongly suggest you recommend they come out and have dinner there that evening. I guarantee you they'll enjoy themselves. :-) What else are they going to do that evening anyway? :-)

Tentatively in. I may have a scheduling problem and be in TN at that time.
Hope not.
24 oz porterhouse has me sold. :D

I'll see if I can drag RascalDoc, Avmaster and Purdman along as well.
