I've seen them draw from the bank account attached to the paypal account. Not that its a complete problem solver but its possible he could get his funds back or at least a portion.

The fact that this character is banned makes it hard for the AZ community to apply any additional pressure.
I feel bad that this happened and hopefully Paypal will come through.
As far as Itrader is concerned, it's important but not as important as dealing with people that are known and trusted by other AZ members.
I still believe that if there is any question, having another AZ member vouch for you is still the best way to insure a smooth transaction.
There are newbies that I know are very good people to deal with, and we have had members with several Itraders that are scammers and eventually were banned from the forum.
There has been more of these in the last few months than we typically have in a year, and that is very disturbing.

I wanted to scream a warning when he posted his ad. I had just got taken by superman8 and when I posted not to deal with superman8. It struck me as weird how this guy would question how this guy was dishonest after reading my post. Then talking about superman8

I almost dealt with him too for his predator 5k. I explained to him that I'm also new here in AZ but I have some Itrader and some people that can vouch for me. I told him I understand how it is when you're new but he also has to understand the position of the buyer. I have never used escrow as well but actually offered him that we go thru fastnloose, i even offered to shoulder the expenses. He didn't want to and said he needs the money asap. I told him, he could take his chances in leaving it at wanted/for sale but at least with escrow, its a guaranteed sale already. He didn't go for that so I told myself, that's it, just too risky.

Find the guys, cut off his ball sack, smother it in habanero sauce, shove em up his cornhole, remove, then shove em down his throat! There is a special place in hell for jackasses like that! Im telling you, if it were legal to kill a thief, stealing would not be so common. Sorry for your loss man, I went through something like this last year, it was total bs. Good luck.

Im a really easy going guy, I can tolerate a lot of things, but a thief brings my mind to a whole new level of pissed the hell off! Sometimes I scare myself with the sick thoughts that cross my mind regarding what id do to some bad people. I really hope this dude gets his cash back.

WOW, so I just went through my PM and check this out, I ALMOST GOT SCREWED MYSELF.
He wanted to Trade me A MEZZ and a 5k6 predator for my beat up 2k3, and here's the conversation! GOod thing I am not a MEZZ fan or a 5k6 fan, otherwise I would have been F********.
I Sent the cue out to RODCAR today, without hesitation and that shows the power of trust.

Paypal is missing an opportunity
We all preach escrow, escrow, escrow in these situations and it just dawned on me. Paypal could offer escrow services..duhhh. They would benefit by locking in and holding the money longer and forcing their set of shipping/delivery proof rules before releasing the funds instead of after they realeased the money usually before the item is even shipped which leads to them so often later having to deal with the fraud complaints, investigations,etc. They could even charge a little extra service fee on top when escrow services were requested and agreed to by both parties. A person posts the payment, Paypal notifies the other party to ship within a certain timeframe, and the receiving party tells Paypal to release the payment upon receipt of the item, or the seller requests release by providing proof of signed delivery after an allotted inspection period to allow for the receiver to file a complaint of fraud if the seller sent a box of bricks.
DUHHHHHHH! If I were an executive at Paypal, I would have come up with this a long time ago and it would already be in place.

It is real simple...DON'T send money to ANYONE who cannot be verified. Ask for references if the individual does not have an Itrader. Always check the Itrader responses - a good scammer can buy from himself and comment on his own purchase! Check to see how long they have been on this board, and what are they doing here. Scammers rarely participate on this board in anything other than a quick sale or two!
Ask seller if he sells on Ebay and check his "Feedback" there! If the the sale is too good to be true or just seems suspicious...DON'T send money! Do your homework or flunk the grade!
Fortunately, you should be able to get your money back from Paypal. Others have not been so lucky!

For purchases off ebay paypal protects buyers only if an item is never shipped and they just take the cash. It does not cover if an item is "not as advertised" as it does on ebay purchases. They could send you anything in any condition.
When you fund paypal purchases with a credit card, the credit card does not provide any additional protections to the buyer beyond what little paypal does. I asked my credit card company this question when considering a purchase from a unfamiliar seller.
Getting paypal to recover money from someone who is not a storefront type seller is impossible once they nave removed the money from their account. The seller can take our your money without entering proof of shipment (tracking numbers). Paypal cannot do a charge back on an individual who has emptied their account and doesn't use Paypal again.
Legal recourse with this sort of thing, none really. Yes it's illegal, but nobody investigates/prosecutes this sort of crime. One caveat here BUYER BEWARE.

seems most people think that the internet is anonomous and they can get away with this kind of stuff very easily... In most cases the interwebz is anything but anon. SOmebody with motivation could find out anything they wanted about virtually anyone..
