Schon refinishing?

I have a CX83 model Schon that has become a little beat up, love the cue and I'm
wondering if it's possible to have it refinished. There are some dings in the ebony.
Should I try to have it fixed or just keep playing with it and ignore the condition?

Obviously the problems do not effect the playability.

If you have to ask...I'd say have it refinished. It will be like new again.
 
I did this very thing with a schon cx83 about 2 years ago. I sent it back to evan at schon and they refinished it for like $140. The cue looks like new now, but it took like 2 months to get it back.
 
I had Bob Frey refinish a old Scruggs Sneaky recently and he had it back to me in 2 weeks. I would give him a call. THx
 
You say it does not affect playability while being in rough shape. I say it does, in a small way. For the same reason your car feels like it drives better after you wash it :grin:
 
If you can get Bob Frey to do it, use him as 1st choice......if you want it back quickly, then Proficient Billiards does a nice job as well.

Ryan did a Predator for me. Turn around time was excellent as was the craftsmanship.

Looked like a brand new cue from the rack. And for a decent price as well.
 
If I were considering refinishing a cue I'd check with Schmelke. They have a new state of the art UV coating system that is worth checking out. UV coatings are phenomenal and the new wave in finishes. Here is a link to the about us page from their website...

Schon did the refinish on this old R-15 last year. I would say the work turned out pretty fantastic.

I agree with this. But if you're looking for an honest opinion, post some pics and I'm sure you'll get plenty of them. Heck, without pics you've already received four solid places to have it refinished.

Honestly I'm not familiar with the Schon CX83, so I really just want to see the cue. :grin: And I think we would all like to see before and after if you do get it refinished
 
I'd be glad to post some pictures, but I think I don't have the program needed on this computer ( my laptop). Been quite a while since I posted a photo and can't remember how it's done.
