He's been posting pictures and asking for people who may know a good surgeon in the Arizona area. Looks like if he doesn't have surgery soon the doctor said his bridge hand may never work right again. Doctor said it may end his career if it's not fixed soon and correctly.

Scott, I broke my wrist playing tennis 20 years ago. My navicular bone. Very little blood flow allowing to heal well.

Long story short, Scott FWIW, my orthapedic had doomsday predictions - 6 months of casting + rehab. Bone graft was a serious option.

I freaked, pushed the medical industry envelope and paid $3600 to "rent" an electonic stimulator as a desparate option (Ortho Logic 1000). I was healed in 7 weeks. Crazy. Dr Ryan Gioffre of acclaim, dropped his jaw having never seen anything like it in his decades.

I "hear" you can get them at Walmart now for @ $20. I hope you can heal and play top shelf. Please look into it and best results.

Wonder if Scott has good medical coverage? I don't think he was in the military, so he can't get cared for at the VA. Phoenix, Arizona has several C.O.R.E. Medical group that are said to have some great Orthopedic Specialists that specialize in Orthopedic Sub specialities like hands.

You are referring to what's called TENS units I believe. Some people report success with pain management. I haven't heard much about bone healing but I'm not up on that. Probably best place to look is Amazon and read the reviews from users.

BTW...I think a "career ending" broken wrist for a pool player is a pretty big stretch.

2 points well taken lost. The "stimulator", from what I understood, was primarily to pump up healing bloodflow, not pain mgmt though.

2ndly though, with proper care, and perhaps some stroke adjustment, Scott could hope to get it all back. And maybe some more.

I've broken both my wrists. I had to take my senior year final exams orally because I was double casted and double slinged. Good times.

The best thing you can do is to get to a doctor asap. Now Scott. Go to the emergency room before it sets and heals wrong.

Best to you Freezer.

So he went to a Doctor and needs surgery and it isn't even scheduled? Sounds like he doesn't have insurance to me
I've broken a few bones playing sports including a pretty bad ankle break. I think it's safe to assume his broken wrist didn't come from playing pool

Maybe the guy has a good job with coverage.

You know whats really funny to me about facebook postage?? He posts about his wrist being broken and never fully explains WHY??? Why the hell is your wrist broken?? Just like everybody else that say... "oh my poor grandmother is in the hospital and needs your prayers.. Please send her some prayers.."

OK???? WHY??? What is the problem? If you are going to post on facebook about your personal issues then give the goddamn details to why we should help or give "prayers" to those in need. Anytime I see a post like this i view it as attention seeking. Im not saying Scott is attention seeking by why hasnt he posted the main reason for his "mishap". Why in three pages of facebook posts have we not seen what actually happened to him. God bless him because it is tragic (photos look really bad) but FFS tell us what happened.

Is it really our business to know specifics? Maybe my mind works differently, but if a person asks me for a recommendation for something like that, I give them what information I have on the basis of trying to be a good human being in general. If they want to tell me their story, that's up to them. From my point of view, it looks like people are looking for a reason to cast judgement on Scott. And that's just wrong.

If i post something on facebook i usually tell the whole story. I know this is so unconventional for most but its a public forum non the less. So... If you are willing to post a severe injury online for most to see why not say what happened??

Oh I fell of a ATV or a tree or a swing and my pool career may be endangered. I guess it comes down to this.... If you want sympathy make it less symptomatic and make it more personal. Tell us what happened and how much bad luck you just had. Its ok to vent... Its ok to ask others for prayers but WHY??? And this isnt a jab at Scott alone its to all attention whores on social media!!! Give us the specs man!! I heard maybe something about a ATV wreck but instead of posting about " Boo hoo hoo my wrist is shattered and I dont know what to do..."

Instead post.. "got into a bad ATV wreck and im banged up pretty good... Any love or prayers sent my way would be gladly appreciated.... God bless each and every one of you.."

I guess my point is just be upfront and real about it all and not be so "hazy" about your afflictions or problems!! Dont leave everybody in the dark to see how many posts or likes you get. To me it sounds fake as Pam Anderson's tatas and is attention seeking.

Sorry freezer but why dont you tell all of the pool world what happend to you (since nobody really knows) and we can all wish you a speedy recovery

And to everybody else there in Facebook land please spread the word on this... The more direct reasons for sharing remorse is all for the better of humanity and not for one's selfish insecure needs to feel validated as a human being. If you feel any of that then its really necessary then you don't deserve to be called a human being. Sorry mang..... Just telling people the cold hard truth...

to me, it sounds like you are just being nosey(not that there is anything wrong with that. but that's me just being speculative. Did you ask him on his FB page what happened? He doesn't owe anyone an explanation but on the flip side, no one owes him any sympathy.

I don't know exactly what happened but word on the street is he punched something that didn't give.

I've broken both wrists and have probably seen close to 20 others broken, I've seen 4-5 broken exactly like Scott's. They all were from punching something that wouldn't give..... Not saying that IS the case here, but it IS a possibility.

He should call up whatever professional ball team is in his area and ask them who is their orthopedic doctor. THAT is who you want fixing your wrist.

Yep, I used to work with professional ice skaters who travelled the world and when the they needed drs, that was my go-to.

He said on FB he's looking for a doctor that will take a large cash down payment.

Doctors & Hospitals want Insurance that is pre-authorized, and Co-Pays at time of service. Sorry to say too many people have stiffed both Doctors & Hospitals, so the old trust thing is no long the way most do business any more.
