I have my opinion about Artie and His game, from what I've seen with my own eyes and bet MY money! I'm quite sure YOU haven't!
You chose to direct a comment and challenge towards ME, now, YOU decide not to like my reply! I NEVER tried to belittle you or direct ANY comment toward until YOU addressed ME first!
SJD an I have, lets say have a 'no holds barred' dislike for each other, that's how this thread took a BAD turn! He defends his position and I'll defend mine to the end!
It's a n OPEN forum to express your opinions on many aspects of the cue games, which I do. The difference between him and I is, besides the personal thing, I don't question his game in relation to Artie's because of our thing! If I think one player can't win over another, that's my opinion, if either one of them could make a ball, I'd surely be betting on Artie, for the simple reason, 'He and Efren are the smartest two one pocket players EVER, and I put Artie slightly ahead in that department, with Efren having MUCH more talent!'
I'm NOT here to argue, but, I won't be attacked and NOT respond in like! Just here to voice my opinion about a player and friend for over 50 years that has a batting average against TOP players than 'Babe Ruth!'
You express nothing about the different cue games.

I have never played DD.

Yeah, I heard that too, and was impressed until I got a peek at his 'Beat List':

Except for his endless bragging, about his billiard accomplishments, the only truth he ever spoke, was that Artie B. was a great pool player, and gambler..And, he has made a career out of using that, to get people to believe the rest of his unadulterated garbage !..
Count the posts in this thread alone, where anyone, (except his two 'close friend's)..may have agreed with him, on ANYTHING !..And that is strictly from blind Chicago loyalty..Sorry, but thats NOT my problem !..If anyone were to put up a poll, to that effect, you could bust me, if over two people thought he was actually mentally competent ! (and I have plenty of money)
I am truly embarrassed, that I have spent so much time and effort, diffusing his garbage, but please understand, he began a personal attack on me, years ago, for NO reason other than I exposed him, for what he really was !..His outright lies, about me, were just more than I could deal with !

Bigtruck is looking for his next one pocket "FIGHT NIGHT" challenge and clearly there are some unrepressed feelings here. I'm in for a case of Yukon Jack and what ever a 3 cushion players fancies. Who knows, could be bigger than Barton vs Figueroa. If nothing else, at least get Artie out of AZ retirement and have him start posting again, that would make this a whole lot more colorful.
I don't think it was totally a pleasure....but the readers of this thread
came out a big winner.
I enjoyed the trip down memory lane. I've actually played a few mentioned.
I also enjoyed the posts of Old Nine Baller...I was sorry he tilted.
...a lot of us liked his 'How would you get out here' threads.
It would be nice if you, Richard, did a few yourself.
And Billy Smith's 3-cushion contributions would be welcome also.

It's a shame with all that knowledge that YOU proclaim to have about the game, NOT one single amoeba size titbit has dribbled out on to a page in ANY forum!

Well Lou, to be fair who started this all? Bill and Jay were having a nice discussion down memory lane, and Bill mentioned that Artie liked to try and get 8/7 from Bugs so he could win.
The next post after that is a complete diatribe and personal attack from SJD. I don't mind folks having a difference of opinion, but to sit back and try and hijack a thread because of animosity is kind of crazy.
So, basically, Bill can never have a discussion with anyone, ever, on AZB with SJD coming unglued because he mentioned Artie or Chicago?
Go back and read the first few pages, and tell me I'm wrong. Yes, Bill added flames to the fire and would not back down either... but he certainly didn't start the derail of this thread or start the attacks.

Being as one pocket seems to currently be the most popular high $$$$ pool game being played, and no one has even SEEN a billiard table in 50 years (let alone a $2 billiard player)..Which do you think would be the most popular game to learn ?
