Do you have what you would consider to be secrets about the game that you just cant tell because your scared someone else might take your information or secrets and beat you with it.
 
there are a few things, like reading double kisses on bank shots, bank from certain diamonds and a certain ball hit, also I can probably make ten spot shots in row in my first attempt, using drag draw with english to create diffrent postion plays. Oh yeah I know a few tricks.

It is the total package that wins or loses and I never have feared telling someone anything. Most "secrets" that many people think are known only to them are already known to many many people anyway. The only things I don't tell people are things I think they already know.

Yes I have an know secrets. Its all about A day in Dallas Texas an the grassy noe. But of course its a secret. I must keep it that way. :nono:

Then he obviously spent a lot of time watching "The Baltimore Bullet", because he stole that line from there! (Or maybe they stole it from him?)

I heard that Willie Mosconi used to say there are only two secrets to playing great Pool: Soft, and Softer.
 
I used to know some secrets but I forgot them just to be sure I didn't accidentally tell anybody.

I have one but if i tell you might beat me with it ..
So i'll tell you . Laugh when you miss ,cry when you win the big match you'll feel better..and never get sharked by the girl with them low cut tops..

As far as secrets..naugh..I read some stuff the beard put in a couple of books,pretty good advice.Bryne books has some cool stuff..the secret...is being able to play the shots.
But we all know this.sorry I tried.
 
I try to help everyone i can but there's one secret that i teach that i know has beaten me out of a few tournaments.

And pete i know that you know first hand what it is............
 
Shot secrets or mind secrets? Is 'secrets' simply interchangeable with 'experience'? IMO the more experienced player is usually going to know more than the less experienced player... There's probably a lot I can withold from my 12 year old cousin that I could consider as 'secrets' only because I know something he doesn't lol.

Edit: Unless there is some kind of medieval medallion that gives off supernatural powers whence clenched between one's butt cheaks gives a player an ability to run 100 racks of 9 in a row, then I'd say there are really "secrets" in the world of pool... Otherwise its simply experience/knowledge, which can be defeated by creativity IMO.

No one teaches a student everything, it is just part of being human we all want to win until the day we die!!!!!;)
 
If you were to tell someone or show someone a so called secret they still need to properly comprehend and apply it to their game. Timing is important. I don't mind sharing information with people about different aspects of the game but I'm not going to tell them prior to a competitive match against them (league/tournament/cash game) which may in turn screw myself. Afterwords I have no problem.

Observing opponents weaknesses is integral indeed as previously stated. Looks like that guy/gal can't do _____ shots that well. I'll remember that for later :)
Knowing there strengths is important too. Looks like that guy/gal can run out from everywhere I better not miss :0
 
Well here's a secret most don't know:D When playing 8 ball, and you're breaking...make sure the 1 ball is on the spot for the break, and if you're racking, try not putting it on the spot for your opponent on his/her break.

Because, the 1 ball has a higher density than the other balls, having it on the spot will transfer more energy to the break, and spread the balls better. Try it and see for yourselves;)

If the 1-Ball is more dense and it's the same size as the rest of the balls then it will have more mass, and therefore, weigh more.......... lol, I'm gullible, I'm going to have to check that out haha
