Semifinal - Pagulayan - Souquet

Some success

well I got it on my pool room computer but it asked me to download active x control. When I did it worked right away but my other computer asks me to download windows media which I dont know why as I have had windows media forever. I am trying to download 11 and see it helps but that seems to take forever. Makes know difference the stream looks terrible. too bad. Guess too many people maybe.

Souquet has 5 break and runs by my count.

Neither player has missed a ball.

I've never seen anyone play 10 ball this perfectly.

This is a 10 ball clinic, would like to have the video of this, Ralf is playing perfect. :)

Make that 6 BRNs. Crazy. Perfect play. Alex only missed a break shot.

Does anybody have the payouts for 3rd and 4th place of this tournament?

Well, 1st and 2nd too, if you know! :)

Every rack Ralf broke he ran out, unbelievable, Alex did not do very much wrong either, just sick.

Yes, Ralf did play well.

I think they should do the same thing in baseball. The last three innings, each team should only be allowed one out. Yeah, that's the ticket. :grin-square:

perfect is the right word, it's the word that comes up over and over. The only thing that might be a mistake is ralf played a decent intentional foul, and alex played a nice shot to break up the cluster and get out. Otherwise, ralf is playing just sick sick sick.

I didn't nominate ralf in the 'nicest stroke' thread but I think I've been converted. It's so fundamentally perfect. The shots that terrify me, where the cue ball must just be pounded exactly center with confidence, ralf just does over and over without fear, getting exactly the result he expects. The only thing he's done is occasionally overhit a ball by 10-15% in speed. And he underhit the 9 to get on the match-winning 10, but drilled it in anyway.

He hits the rack ungodly hard on the break and keeps trickling in these late balls. The cue ball hops back past the side pockets then hooks and dies in the middle of the table. The 1 hangs near a corner or goes into the corner. He actually puts doubt in your mind as to whether shane has the best 10 ball break.

Even losing the lag wasn't wrong after alex got an unlucky scratch.

When ralf is on, even alex can get (almost) skunked.
Of course it just shows why these races are too short.

Unreal

For those of you who didnt watch the stream:

Rack 1: Alex scratches on the break, Ralf runs out: 1-0
Rack 2: Ralf break and run out: 2-0
Rack 3: Ralf break and run out: 3-0
Rack 4: Ralf break dry, safe by Alex, intentional foul by Ralf, Alex run out: 3-1
Rack 5: Alex break dry, Ralf run out: 4-1
Rack 6: Ralf break and run out: 5-1
Rack 7: Ralf break and run out: 6-1
Rack 8: Ralf break and run out: 7-1

Best I have ever seen

Ralf broke dry in game 4?!? Shame on him! His game has obviously gone downhill.

If Ralf is playing Earl, the Ralf will be accused of being lucky rather than better.

The hell of it is, Earl doesn't HAVE to be totally wrong here. Except for maybe one of the 1-balls going into the corner, none of the balls that went in looked like balls that ralf was intentionally playing. They're all "late" balls that go around 3 rails before falling in.

I'm not saying he can't possibly be playing for a certain corner ball to go in after 3 rails, but when the 2 ball trickled into the side ... I think it was in rack 5? Clearly that was fortunate, as he had the cue ball parked with a simple shot on the 1. Alex is out of that rack if the 2 ball has 1 mph less speed on it.

I guess this is what we asked for... by switching from 9 ball to 10 ball you're getting a break where instead of playing to make a specific ball, you hit them as hard as you can while controlling whitey, and just try to find favorable spots for the cue ball.

Ralf obviously needs sick skills to get out of every rack where he makes a ball, but he doesn't seem to be playing the balls he makes on the break. Arguably that's "lucky" (as opposed to shane breaking the 2nd ball into the side over and over while hanging the 1).

Still was the best 10 ball any human being could ever hope to play.

Ralf is actually practicing his break now, before the final. lol

Good points Creedo. Ralf didn't make one of the balls behind the 1 in the sidepocket once, which Shane normally does. So Ralf was kind of fortunate on the break, but he still had to pocket all the balls ;)
