Watching Shane play Mika on Day 1, he made about 5 or 6 of these shots with unbelievable accuracy on all of them. I have never seen them done like the way he was doing them. We all get lucky once in awhile and we're trying to thin the ball and get safe, but we rarely do what we want to do, which is barely touch it. Well, after seeing him do this on 5 or 6 occasions with the same results, I'm a believer that he a skill not many possess. In all the pool I've watched, I've never seen it done quite like this.
I have attached a illustration.. the balls mean nothing, I didn't place the balls there for any other reason then to show what he would do. So don't tell me why wouldn't you do this or that, I paid no attention to where I tossed some balls on the table.
From 8 ft away, he would hit the 4 ball so thin, that it might move 1/2 ball or a ball at the most. I mean when he hit the object ball sat there and thought about whether it was supposed to move or not, that's how thin he would cut them !!! And he did this from 8 ft way and had the speed down to where the cueball would come back to the rail at the other end perfectly.
He did this while driving his cueball thru traffic so not only was he getting perfect thin hit on the object ball, but he had perfect english or no english to maneuver thru balls to leave him hooked.
He did this time and time again and I just wanted to say I was very impressed. On one shot, the camera was up close on the object ball, he was 8 ft away and he feathered that thing !!!!
I also am very impressed with Shane's safety play, he executed almost every one of his many safety's thruout the night, with almost perfect results.
Anyone else impressed with this? I think we all know how hard it is to do and we all know how straight a person must shoot in order to do this from so far away.
