Shane just won the Ten Ball tournament beating Filler 10-7 in the Finals.

That's not necessary true if you ever pay attention to the Chinese play in their big money 8 ball tournament. Everyone is invited but few have success. Tough table with 3.5 inches snooker type pockets.
As matters of fact SVB's 8 ball game has gotten to such a high level is by being completing in China. JMO
Any of the top tier players can win any tournament on any given day. SVB plays good enough to win any of them. However it’s no shame in losing to the best players in the world. Idk of any average player that wins every local tournament they play in either.
True, obviously, but the American demographic of 8 ball Pool has Much deeper roots here in the states than China.

Shaw in my opinion is Mosconi Equal and is Better in ''high gear'' when he starts to Roll than Sigel in high gear, Filler doesn't hit the cue ball as good as Shaw at his best as, when Shaw's at his best, nobody does.

I think Shane has reached a point in his career where he could (and maybe sort of wants to) retire and live out the rest of his life on the lake as a pool legend, but he's also still playing elite pool right now. So while he doesn't necessarily feel like he has to win anymore, every win that he does notch is like playing with house money in terms of building his legacy. Which makes him very, very dangerous for the other pros on tour. He's probably feeling the least amount of pressure he has ever felt right now, and I think a lot of that came from himself realizing that he could hang it up at any moment and go out on top.
Full Table 6 pocket pool, much tougher to safe a player, than one pocket.
I remember hearing one of the greats in 14.1 say, he thought 8 shots ahead when playing safes.
When you come from a generation that either ate that day or didn't, one's a-Cue-itty improves.
It ain't chess. I ain't buying the thinking 8 shots ahead thing from anyone. I'd give someone 3 or 4, maybe. Any more than that and you're wasting metal energy because you can't accurately predict what your opponent is going to do or exactly how the pack is going to lay after every hit.
